OMG.. I am so glad I looked this up. I am on yazz and this is the first month i got my period. First of all it was like a week late.. freaked me out number 1.. number 2 i had horrible stomach cramps this morning when I finally got my period. Then tonight i had the same thing happen. The freaky, gross rubber discharge. I freaked out, texted me friend and was about to put it in a bag and call my doc in the morning. I think i'll still call my doc to see if this can be a sign of complications down the line. Thanks ladies for all the posts.. i can at least sleep tonight and not worry i have something seriously wrong with me.

This is great! I was really scared! Im not on yasmin but on a different birth control pill and I had been on it for about 6 months and then went off, I started again a month ago and it's the second day of my period. When I removed the tampon it was like a clotty bit of blood (normal for me) mixed with white discharge, similar to raw chicken fat like someone said... I think this is pretty common among people who use oral contraception!!

Hi, I know you posted this quite a long time ago, but I'm in the exact situation, started with Yasmin a month ago, my first period.... Had the worst cramps ever.
Did you see your doc finally? What did she tell you? Thanks a lot.

hi I had the same experience this morning and the exact thing happend.I had a large discharge of white tissue and woke up with a painful feeling under and cramps.I never had this before.I was taking diane 35 for 21 days because I had this terrible acne vulgaris and my friends told me that the pill could really help thats why I took it.But then for one month I have been taking it I didn't had my period just this month when I stopped taking it.And just this morning I had the same thing.I am a little worried because I haven't had any sexual activities for almost 6 months and it was just the pill I was taking.Im really scared about it. :(

Im 16 and not on any form of birth control and i just got this too, quite a lot of it and then my period went brown like it was going to end but ive only had it a day. I think whats happened is the whole lining has come out instead of being broken down like usual so i dont think you should worry

I'm glad to see this -- I found the thread looking for answers on a similar issue, except this is my third period with the Mirena IUD, which I've had for just over six months. It is not possible that I'm pregnant, otherwise I may have thought it was a miscarriage since the cramps felt like early labor (I've had three babies, no issues) and my cervix is partially dilated. The chunks were definitely NOT blood clots, but chunks of tissue many times larger than has ever passed before -- the largest was about 1/4" thick and almost as big as my palm. After that one passed two days ago (day 7) the bleeding and cramps have eased a lot, but still day 9 of what usually lasts four days for me. Glad to hear there are similar accounts and no real issue...if this doesn't stop soon then I'll still have to call the gynecologist, but at least by then I can cite iron concerns instead of just this.

During a menstrual cycle, the endometrius is broked down and shed. The hormones affected are targeted by birth control. The endometrius doesn't fully degrade and a chunk is discharged instead of blood.

Is it dangerous? Because it just happened to me.

I have the same issue except that I am not under any contraceptive. Currently at my OBGYN, I'll write later with results.

something like that happens to me each month during the heaviest most painful part of my period. The way i would describe it is "it looks like the inner labia tissue from the vagina"
