Hey everyone! So I got my tonsils removed about 8 days ago. Did it cause hopefully it will be beneficial and cause they were the size of golf balls lol. Day of surgery was early morning,no lie it was a quick surgery. Not much pain Yet! Days 2-5 we're hectic, pain was very high and can barely swallow water. Everyone is different in body recovery but my uvula was huge bothered me alot. Even if it hurt so bad swallowing after taking meds it was a great temp relief. Try not to miss any medicine doses through out your recovery or till the pain is minimal. Day 6 i tried to start eating soft foods while my no pain window. It wasn't fun still hurts. Later that day at midnight I started to spit blood with saliva! I was so scared, cause of what I have read that if that was to happen they got to reclose the wounds and that means starting back on day one. But I prayed and thank God! I put a cold pack all around my neck and did gargle of ice cold water and it stopped. Make sure to call your doctor the next day and let him know. Just in case if it don't stop call 911. I'm on day 8 going into 9. My pain is still strong at times and have sore throat again. All you can do is take meds, drink alot of water, rest, and go through the days. I know it's getting better I can kinda feel it. I will do another update on my next days soon. Thanks for y'alls time I hope this helps you in a way either after you have this surgery done or before.

It is killing me reading so many stories of people’s easy recoveries. I am on day 10 post op and still in unbelieveable pain when I don’t take my pain medication regularly. My main problem that I wasn’t warned about was the stabbing ear pain I have experienced in combination with the sore throat from day 4 onwards. I feel asthough there is a searing hot knife in my ear canal. Day 8 was my absolute worst day, struggling to sleep or eat anything & I feel as though there weee small improvements in day 9. Every single day there is a new challenge with this recovery.

I feel your pain and am still only on my first night (now morning) after my surgery (29 year old). I literally can not sleep even though the doctor said the meds would make me sleepy. I feel as though I choke slightly when laying down trying to sleep so here I am at 3:00 in the morning typing this. Did anyone else have terrible pain the first night? When did the ear pain start? I’m doing my best to keep drinking ice water and counting down the minutes to when I can take my pain meds again.
