:'( OMG!!!!! This c**p hurts so bad!!!!!!! I'm only on day 7..... The first couple of days were ok but after then i have really been in pain.... My right ear aches so badly, just the whole right side in general.. I can't eat,sleep or anything, as a matter of fact i haven't eaten anything since Thursday thats the day i had the surgery... The meds that they gave me are not woking and when i take it i burns my throat really badly... SO I CAN'T TAKE IT!!!!!!!!!!Good thing it's a liquid.. But still it hurts!!!!! Please somebody tell me that it will get better?!....

Recovery from tonsillectomy is not a simple one. It can be painful so you need to take good after care. First, are you using any pain medication? Recovery usually takes up to 4 weeks. But first week is the worst, and in the second week you will feel much better. In first week you should be on a soft diet, some refer to it as soup diet. Only thing that you can eat is a soup. So try following that diet. Have you noticed any blood on the tonsils or in your mouth? It is important for the wound to heal in the right way, because it may cause complication later.
Ice cream is also good for easing the pain.
