For almost a month and a half, my tonsils have been enlarged. At times, so large that I can touch them together. When I first noticed them, I did have a little bit of a sore throat but nothing I thought I should worry about. The pain from the throat went away fairly quick. When they got larger I experienced some pain in my right ear, that lasted for... two days.
I noticed the swollen tonsils feb.2 and its march.16.
When I eat foods like, bread or potatoes, I have to constantly wash it down for when eating this type of food, they seem, even more dry then they ever had before. My mom does not think I should go in to see a doctor because I feel no pain. But I have been told now that I am snoring, and I am also sometime having trouble breathing at night.
Does anyone know what is wrong? Should I just try to kick this "bug" with Vit C or should I go in and see about getting them removed?

Wow, this sounds similar to my situation. I am 40 years old and everything started mid-January. I got a sore throat that turned into an ear ache for two days. Once the ear ache went away, the post nasal drip would not stop and I always felt like I had something in my throat so I went to an ENT. I did not have any throat pain whatsoever but it made me uncomfortable. I had trouble eating and drinking due to the feeling in my throat. The first thing the ENT said is that my tonsils were very large. He prescribed an antibiotic and scheduled me for two weeks. The post nasal drip went away but the lump in my throat stayed. On my second visit, the ENT did a more through test with the camera through my nose and determined that my airways were being restricted by the large tonsils and recommended having them removed. I had the surgery on March 9th and am about to start Day #10 of the healing process. Hopefully, all the pre-op symptoms will be gone once I am all better.
