The night before last I had a night of lots of sex with a great guy, with him mostly on top of me. I didn't feel any pain or issues, but the next day, I was lying on my side on the couch and suddenly felt a strange pain in what seems like my sternum?? Right between and below my breasts. I got a little panick-y, and it sort of felt like I had to go to the bathroom and barf all at once. I stood up, went to bathroom, tried stretching, touched my toes, but the pain continued. Except for the panic, I didn't feel a significant change in heart rate or anything. I finally went and laid flat on my back and took several deep breaths and it just sort of stopped. No residual pain or soreness, so I thought maybe the sleepless night had just caught up with me or something.
Then last night (by myself), I must have been laying on my side while sleeping (I usually do sleep on side) and I woke up with the same sharp pain. This time I was calmer and just laid myself flat, spread arms out and kept taking deep breaths until it passed.
Today, I have made a point of using good posture and keeping airways as clear as possible. Do you think all that sex and weight bearing down on my chest did some kind of damage? It's the strangest feeling. I can't tell if it's muscular or nerve or what kind of pain, but it's strong. Can your sternum area get a charley-horse?
