I have injured my back last month while rock climbing on holiday. I did not fell, I just fell enormous pain in one moment, that subdued in next several minutes. I thought I was ok, but I started feeling the same thing in the lower back the next day, and ever since. Other than that, I can move freely, and without obstruction. My friends tell me that treating pain with Metadone will help me a lot, but I am still concerned.
I wonder how come people do not think of seeing a doctor first? Even though you can move freely, you still feel pain, which definitely means there is definitely something wrong with you. What is wrong, I cannot tell you. Only doctor will, after serious examination. This injury of yours might get complicated if left untreated, dont play with it, please. Methadone will surely help you with easing the pain, but maybe doctor will prescribe you something else. Also, Methadone and all other pain relievers, have side effects that will make you think twice before actually using it.
same here but why methodone when there is a very high risk of death more than any other opiate even oxycotin. these are the facts/methodone works if you take a high dose for pain more than the 5 to 10 the doctors prescribed. i am on methodone for sever chronic shoulder reconstrutive surgery from bodybuilding. it works but i have to have my fiance hold them because they aer almost time releaed. the withdrawal is a bit tolerable but that is the same some days it is east others i vomit and i get into that daze. these doctors are ridiculous in the usa of all countries. you pay them all the money in the world for a surgery to keep there practice and job alive for what. my shoulder is worse and i get treated or they make you feel like a drug addict at some places. this government has to do something. percocet, oxycotin is addictive if your some id**t snorting the sh*t for pain nothing betting. at least combine the two methodone is for long term pain relief. the breakthrew pain is what they make vics, percs, oxy for doctors help the patients please
PLEASE don't let anyone treat your pain with methadone. I was just treated with it for the past year. It worked excellent at first, in fact i felt better then i had felt in many many years. But that was just a euphoric effect of methadone. It wore off within a couple weeks, and over the past couple months the methadone did a complete turnaround on me. Even after the docs raised it. I was taking 10mg 3 times a day. They raised it to 4 times. (not a large dose, but it worked for me originally). I felt horrible. I had 0 interest in life, and had no sex drive whatsoever. Not even any morning salutes if ya know what i mean. It worked ok for the pain, i'm not saying it wont. But towards the end it didn't help so much. Now i'm back to over 100mg of Oxycontin a day ...like i was before the methadone. And i'm still going through horrible methadone withdraws. I've been though withdrawals with different opiates before. Because of nurses who would fail to have my script or the prior auth ready, usually on a Friday. So i'd have to wait till Monday or Tuesday to get my scripts (nice huh?) But anyway....those withdrawals are nothing compared to methadone withdrawals. Multiply that times 5. Even taking oxycontin and other things....i feel like i'm taking nothing right now. You have no idea how strong methadone is. And that my friends, is why people die. People who either take pain meds for the high, or think that the methadone is not working because they don't feel it....will either take more, or take another opiate on top of it. Then your heart stops. You don't really "feel" methadone. Luckily i've never been in it for the "feeling" ...if i was i would probably be dead. I've talked to heroin addicts who said i'm crazy for taking methadone. That's how bad it is. Most junkies would rather withdraw on their own then use methadone. It was the biggest mistake of my life, and i'll never take it again. IMO the only reason doc's want to use it is so they don't have to deal with whether or not people are using their pain meds correctly or selling them. The fact that it's a major problem is hurting people with legitimate pain. Sorry for being so long.....i actually have allot more to say on this subject.
