My wifes wrist, hands and shoulders were swollen, painful and hardly mobile. She is age 51 with family history of RA. The doctor diagnosed advanced acute RA what is new for us, so we need your help about your experience with recommended therapy with Trexall 5mg/ weekly, but it seems that it does not help.
Trexall is a brand name for drug called methotrexate. Approved therapies for RA are methotrexate, Enbrel and prednisone. You need to review the medications carefully with your doctor to ensure adequate therapy for your condition. RA can be very complex disease and demand multidisciplinary approach. I just started with Trexall last weekend for P. I and I take 20mg on Saturdays. So far, I have not had any bad side effects. Good luck.
