I would like to know the symtems and cause of turrets disease. If a child starts clacking his tongue, doing this at anytime of the day or night. Is this a symtem? Would like a response and more information on turrets disease.

It is probably a nervous habit. The child should grow out of it.

This condition was once considered a rare and very bizarre condition. Most bizarre thing about it was the use of obscene word or inappropriate social remarks. You have to understand that this symptom of Tourette syndrome is only presented in a small part of patients. In my opinion clacking of the tongue is not a symptom of Tourette syndrome and you should worry about this condition. But could you give me some more details about childes behavior? Does it have any tics or movements or strange sounds? If you notice any strange movements or tics in a child you can associate these symptoms with this condition but all this needs to be diagnosed by a professional.
