So here is my story, I was told that i coulnt have kids so i lost all hope and recently i missed my period and decided to take a HPT(home pregnancy test). The test came out positve, but i didnt trust the tests results and decided to take another one.That one to came out positive. So i got my hopes up and my husband was excited to find out we were going to become parents. After getting our hopes up we went to the clinic to have a blood test taken to be sure. The nurse at the clinic asured me that i was pregnant( a month pregnant!) after asking me a several questions. so i got even happier. when the blood test were in i received a call telling that the test was negative. so why did i get 2 positive HPTs and a negative blood test? any one help im so confused
First, it is very unusual for false positives in a home pregnancy test. If you have followed the directions carefully AND the results are clear, not faint but definite, then you are likely pregnant.
Depending upon the type of blood test you may get earlier results from the home test.
Are you having other symptoms such as NO period?
There is also the possibility of a "chemical pregnancy." An early miscarriage.
