I have felt that way too, but if I think back the reason I started doing this is this. I am 40 years old now, back in my teens my foreskin would only retract when my penis is flaccid. Obviously like everyone else the glans was super sensitive. I have a very small penis when flaccid but becomes disproportionately big (not huge) when erect. So I started retracting my penis from time to time, it was initially very difficult to retract when erect. I wanted to loosen my foreskin so that I could make the foreskin go back automatically when erect, but till date that does not happen as I have a lot of foreskin. But over the years my foreskin loosened. However i have lot of foreskin now as it probably expanded a little bit. When I was in my early 30s I left my foreskin retracted all the time. Initially it was little difficult. It would automatically roll back. I used to put it back manually. When I do yoga it still goes back, but otherwise it stays back mostly. The sensitivity reduced quite a bit and glans dried up. I no longer have smegma build up for the last decade or so. Also it would stay retracted for the most part except when I do yoga, running etc.
I still do ejaculate quickly, and have the premature ejaculation problem. I am still trying to figure out how to over come that at 40. I feel a little embarrassed to deal with this problem. As I was typing this message, my foreskin stayed rolled back but I have pre-cum... So that's the level of sensitivity I am dealing with. Any suggestions to overcome this problem???

I am also uncircumcised. I retract my foreskin fully and clean under the foreskin daily in the shower. It's very important to keep it sparkling clean underneath. None of my lovers have ever been turned off by my uncut organ. Some had never even seen an uncut penis before mine. As far as looks, I agree that the naked glans might be more attractive. But I can retract my foreskin fully and attain the same appearance that you (and others) prefer. So I think of myself having a "convertible" penis. First, I apologize for deviating from the OP’s topic and not addressing the subject directly in my prior posting.
Everyone’s physiology (and philosophy) is different and so are their reasons for desiring semi-permanent foreskin retraction. I can retract my foreskin behind the ridge and it will stay there in place because of the ridge, for the most part. If I get somewhat aroused, there is a tendency for the foreskin to slip forward just past the ridge. If my penis starts to go flaccid, with the foreskin no longer locked behind the ridge, then it will eventually cover the glans almost entirely. That’s the way it works with me anyhow. This is assuming I am nude at the time.
From my own perspective, I’m not exactly sure of the reason that anyone would want to have his foreskin retracted 24/7 anyway. One of the many benefits of being uncircumcised is that the glans can be covered and protected when going about everyday activities. My glans is extremely sensitive because the foreskin always protects it. If I put on my cotton briefs while retracted, the fabric is in direct contact with my glans. Within a few minutes of activity, I start to feel I’m being stimulated by the contact and if ignored I will eventually have an unscheduled ejaculation in my briefs. The ejaculation is of course pleasurable, but is an unintended consequence of having my foreskin retracted under my clothing. There is a time to be stimulated and a time to not be stimulated. Without the foreskin protecting the glans from abrading on the fabric, the glans will be toughened and sensitivity will decrease over time.

It is perfectly fine to keep the foreskin retracted.
However, since you have a mild phimosis, it needs attention. If it starts to swell, cover your head. After a while it will stretch enough.
As per method, at the begining you can use the spoon method, and after a while just pull back.

I am 82. I retracted my foreskin 50 years ago. I did it because of the bullying a was getting from the cut guys. My skin was already loose so it retracted easily. Best to wear jockey underpants where your penis is held in the pouch. It feels great and looks cut. The head grew to a large size since it was no longer squeezed under a tight foreskin. It is now the same color as the rest of my penis. It also exposed the frenulum which is the pleasure point. I am 84 and my foreskin has been retracted since my mid twenties. The only noticeable difference is the rim of my glans is quite pronounced due I Mthink to the foreskin pushing against it in the years.
