Some men like to wear their foreskins permanently retracted. They seem to do okay with it.

The danger is that paraphimosis may develop. Paraphimosis is the name of the condition of a retracted foreskin that is stuck behind the glans penis (head) of the penis and will not go forward. One can read about paraphimosis on the Internet.

If the foreskin is tight enough it can cut off blood circulation to the head and cause edema (swelling due to fluid accumulation). Paraphimosis should be promptly reduced when it occurs. Paraphimosis may be reduced by squeezing the head of the penis really hard to force the blood to leave the head. This will temporarily reduce the size of the head at which time the foreskin may be brought forward.

If attempts to reduce the paraphimosis are unsuccessful, then one should go to the emergency room of a nearby hospital. It is not necessary or advisable to be circumcised although some old-fashioned doctors are likely to recommend it.

Other men, especially those with longer foreskins, are simply unable to keep their foreskins retracted. Their foreskins roll/slide forward when released and recover the glans penis.

I have been trying to keep my foreskin retracted for the past one month.Initially I used to keep it retracted in day time only.Around 15 days ago I kept it retracted in the night also. The next morning I had a little swelling on the foreskin, which quickly disappeared when I rolled it forward to its normal position. Now I am back to keep it retracted only in day time.Any suggestions as I go forward?

The swelling indicates the beginning of edema and paraphimosis due to inadequate blood circulation. I suggest that you limit wearing it retracted to daytime when you are awake and can monitor it and bring your foreskin forward, if necessary.

I was married for 15 years and my husband has a very long foreskin that didn't fully retract even when erect. To be entirely honest I could never say that it looked appealing and when it came to oral sex I felt somewhat nervous about what was hiding underneath it. In the last 18 months I have had a new partner who is circumcised and for the first time in my life I can actually say I really appreciate the male organ. The glans looks pleasant and silky when it is flaccid and when erect it looks positively majestic - large, shiny, beautifully shaped and very inviting. I regard this as a permanent (or at least very long term) relationship but I think if I ever did change partner in the future I would consider this a factor in selecting an appropriate guy. Sorry, I'm not experienced enough to comment about the guys who are talking about permanently retracted foreskins or how they look but I'm guessing it's the aesthetic angle that they're interested in.

I guess that depends on who is pulling it back for you and if you like it.

Tast varies. You prefer to see the glans, however, the ancient Greeks viewed the long tapering foreskin as being the epitome of male beauty.

This should work fine. My son did this instead of circumcision 10 years ago and has had no problems since with glans irritation ( balanitis). Initially the glans was tender when exposed but the skin toughens and peels, becoming less sensitive and eventually you have the effect of circumcision without being cut.

Three years later and I wear a 1.5" rubber plumbing-tap seal under the glans. Wash every day and all's perfect!

Easiest way to keep your foreskin retracted all the time is to cut a hole on the tip of a condom (depends on how big is your penis but do not let the hole to be smaller than your penis when soft or it will fall out and also cut out the remaining part of the condom until only 4cm of the condon is left, change the condom every week

I have to largely concurr with the woman above regarding the exposed glans. I would only add that from my own experience there seem to be two kinds of uncircumcised penis, one where the glans is fully exposed when erect and the other type where the foreskin partially covers the glans. From a woman's perspective the fully exposed glans is far more attractive, especially where oral sex is concerned. The foreseking covering the glans is a little disconcerting and just seems to be in the way. I'm not particularly concerned with how the penis looks when flaccid although if I had to choose I'd probably say the exposed glans is more attractive there too.

Yes it's ok. I have leave my foreskin retracted 24/7 for the past 15 years without any problem. Such sensitivity can still be feel by appying lubricant or from the natural lubricant from your partner, so it doesn't really matter at all. In fact, I feel it's better to leave it retracted.

When my son was about 5 years old, he sufferd from a tight foreskin. We had to apply steroid cream and keep moving the skin back and forth. But this made very little progress and was painful. Also as a single mom i didn't had a lot of time to exercise and didn't want to touch his penis every time. So I tried if i could keep his skin in the retracted position as it is sits always ready to wash and pee. After a few times, it stayed retracted. At first his glans was very sensitive but became better in a few weeks, which was also better for washing and he could pee more accurate.
Now 4 years later i accidently saw him naked and asked if he had any trouble with his penis since it was retracted. He said no. His glans was soft and dry, a little large and completely free from foreskin. It didn't have a bad smell and he didn't try to recover it as i think it looks better too with the glans exposed.

Mostly the preference for cut or uncut penis foreskins is from what a man or woman is most used to seeing on a penis. Foreskins serve a really important purpose to protect the penis head and to provide sexual pleasures for both the man and woman during sex. Try a sunburned penis head to see what missing a foreskin can feel like. Women get more vaginal and clitoral stimulation from all that extra fine foreskin thrusting in and out that cut men lack. Both cut and uncut penises are great sex organs. A too tight foreskin can easily just be slit open with one cut running down the shaft of the penis on the top or bottom to make it slide on and off the penis head easier without needing a full circumcision, even with the tightest foreskins. Or much easier, just stretch it out over time to get it wider and easy to slide up and down, however you want to wear it.
