I have had this for over 4 years I take vitamin supplements Magnesium and potasium doesn't help I take probiotics doesn't help. The pain is worsening, the area of the spasm was originally the size of a golf ball but now is the size of a soft ball. I have had my galbladder out and am on a Gluten free diet. To no avail. Doctors can't explain it but I know I'm not crazy because the spasms are so noticeable I have actually had some one reach out to (feel the baby kick) I'm not fat nor am I pregnant so kinda made me angry. I have had every test imaginable and am ready to lose it. I have spent thousands trying to explain my issues but all a waste, they say if at first u don't suceed try try again well what do u do if u fail fail again. I want 1 doctor to KNOW what it is and fix it. I don't care where I have to fly to get it fixed I am willing to do anything at this point

Have been having the pain in my right side of my abdomen right across from my belly button. Usually if I am bent over for a period of time, or just lately with coughing. Seems the area tightens up & if I stay still it won't hurt & passes & then my stomach starts moving like there is a baby moving inside. If I do move when it comes on I get a sharp pain that will double me over. I haven't had any issues until lately after I was coughing. Scary!

Oh! I am so glad to hear someone else has this! It started 6 months ago, was put on a probiotic and OTC Prilosec. I did fine up until a couple of months ago, when it came back (and it can feel like a baby kicking).
I know that magnesium helps with muscles, and I'm wondering if that isn't it.
My gastroenterologist is doing more tests - I hope he doesn't find anything. I would like it to be nerves, as this has been a bad year.
This is one time, after testing, that I would gladly accept that it was my nerves.
But it sure does drive me crazy when it starts!

Thanks.

Most of this is h.pylori infection..must be treated with a prevpac combo..ulcers will be left behind, which will heal naturally with no alcho/smoke/pungent foods.
Pylori blood tests are not conclusive..an endoscopy will show for sure

a friend of mine said she had the same problem for years...they just had to remove her gallbladder this year. UGH! I hope it's not that for you!

I've been experiencing this same type of thing for some time now.. I went to urgent care last night, and i was told it was most likely trapped gas and dehydration.. I was advised to take Tums whenever I felt the muscle spasm, but the spasm only last for a few moments so the Tums aren't much of a help anyways.. Mine definitely have to do with stress- they occur more frequently in times of anxiety. I'm going to try Activia once a day and see if that helps at all.

You are describing exactly what I have been experiencing for the last 2 days. It comes and goes and is just more annoying than anything. My stomach was bloated last night but no way am I pregnant although it does sort of remind me of a kicking baby or one with hiccups lol.

I am a single mother of 3, work a full time job, go to night school and taking 18 hours a semester. My boyfriend is currently going through some very serious work issues that have me concerned not necessarily worried, so I am sure that mine is due to subconsciously being stressed out. I feel very relieved to hear others are dealing with the same type of symptoms and now know not to be overly concerned. I'm sure this is a temporary thing and will soon pass. Thanks for your post!!!

Hope you feel better soon :-)

I get this when my gall bladder is acting up. I had it for a few days then I had an attack tonight.  I hope for anyone else's sake it isn't that.  The pain is so bad.

When I described the 'baby kicking' sensation to my husband he nearly choked on his supper!  I've only experienced the twitches on the upper left side of my stomach a couple times now but it's definitely weird! Like when you get a twitch in your eye, not painful but annoying.   I have no other health issues and am in good shape with a low stress lifestyle.    I hope this passes!

I had that same thing today and yesterday, I had a magnesium supplement and it seemed to make it subside.
Drinking coffee disrupts magnesium absorption, so it might be related to my new-ish daily coffee drinking habit.

Are others here with that same issue also coffee drinkers?

Do you drink coffee?

Yes in the morning, but the twitch doesn't usually start until mid morning and it seems to get worse in the evening right before I eat dinner. I am of healthy weight and I eat right....hx of gall stones without pain (I'm wondering if it's related to that)
