I have had these spasms for years now, sometimes painful but most of the time they are not. Mine happe s in the middle right under my breast bone or on tjebleft side right under my rib cage. I too have IBS and what we are feeling is colon spasms. Mine happened at the Dr office one day and I had my Dr feel it herself and that's what she said it was. Nothing to worry about it's from the IBS . Hope this helps you. There is no way to fix this but she did provide a gut pill I take when it becomes painful and they work in minutes.

What most of you guys have is a superficial nerve caught between a muscle fibber. You may have scar tissue on your abs contributing. Go get ART therapy from a chiropractor and after a few sessions you will be in fine shape.

Mine twitches after I have a major muscle spasm. I would love to why I have the spasms in upper left abdominal area . It just started one day and occasionally it happens all of a sudden . Takes me like 5 minutes and stretching to get the spasm to let off, bit after that I get the twitching like your explaining. . So I'm thinking it a muscle trying to relax or trying to spasm back up .

I am exeriencing pains as if a baby is kicking. The pain is not horrible or necessary painful, it's more so a weird and annoying kinda thing. The spasm like feeling is in the upper/middle abdomen below the left breast. When the spasms occur it radiates to my left side and back ( still in the upper/middle area). One day I drank (milk) and the pain became waaaaay unbarable. The ER checked for gallstones, pancreatitis and something else, I cant remember. I also had an MRI done and there was nothing. The pain comes and goes while sitting and work but when walking or standing I dont have any spasms. WHAT Could this be?

Same here.
Hi, guest, your story is sounding almost as mine. Only difference between us is that I'm diagnosed with GERD so I think that spasms are caused by intestines. That is only my guess because all tests are ok.
In the beginning I was dead worried, but now don't give a damn to those twitching.
Really hope they will stop soon.

Ok. I have had this since my hysterectomy. I had a c section in 2019, another in 2021, and a hysterectomy (laparoscopic) in 2023. I’m a licensed physical therapist assistant, but I left the field when I had kids. It has been boggling my mind. I notice mine is mostly when I lift my right leg like if I’m putting on shoes standing up or even sometimes if I sit down. It’s literally like an ab muscle cramp and does feel a lot like a baby kicking. I’m kinda thinking maybe scar tissue build up from the ports they used for the surgery or maybe some nerve damage from the surgery. I haven’t seen a doctor because I assumed since I’m not over weight, very active, mostly healthy it would go away but it’s going to be a year in September and if it’s still going on I’m gonna go see somebody. But, I think a talk to a physical therapist wouldn’t be a bad idea.
