My 18 year old son has all these symptoms. Main problem at the moment is how to manage driving lessons. There are not enough toilets around to cover all the likely routes. And how on earth is he going to manage a 40 minute test?

One possible factor is the effect of RF-capable devices in modern cars. This can cause dehydration at the cellular level, cascading eventually into have to urinate more. Sadly there's not much to do about it other than avoidance. It's best to drink some good water so you remain hydrated nonetheless, and avoid other dehydrating things like coffee, smoking, etc.

Take for example your microwave, when you put meat in there for a while, it will become dry and unappealing. IN a nutshell that's what's happening. The energy of a microwave is much higher (shorter wavelength, higher energy), but the effects are comparable regarding RF-capable devices that are commonplace. Some people are more susceptible to the biologic effects, others don't seem to be affected at all. The urge to urinate will not stop until your body has adapted to the dehydrating effect you get within a car. So you'll see that in longer drives, you'll only feel it the first couple of hours, and after that your fine (but dehydrated).

So to recap: limit other dehydrating things, rehydrate with water.

Whoever got you involved in anti-depressant medicine should get locked up in a cage. He did it b/c he could get some commission from drug company. Try to do kegel while driving just when you start to feel urinate, not when you feel like you need a bathroom then it's too late. It's more of a mental problem. Tells yourself you don't need to pee while doing kegel reps.

Although not exactly the same issue, I do sometimes experience strong urges to urinate while driving. I'm female, in my 40's. I have at least an hour commute for work, but closer to two hours when there are traffic issues (which happen all too frequently). It is the latter that causes issues. It is probably a combination of full bladder but more so being stuck in highway traffic without restroom access (which is certainly anxiety producing). I do the typical fidgeting and squirming (and holding) in hopes of not wetting myself. It is just a very frustrating situation to be in, and I then try to find a nearby restroom before I get to work (or get home) and hope that my urethra will hold until I get to a toilet.

A potential solution is to have an adult diaper within reach (men might be able to use a bottle, but it doesn't work well for women). With some difficulty adjusting clothing as needed, I can get the diaper positioned. I then carefully urinate into the diaper. The adult diapers can absorb a full bladder of urine. I only use the diaper in the event of a gotta go right now urgent need, but I have used it about 6 times over the last year. Although it is not a pleasant thought, it sure is great to be able to relieve yourself when you are struggling to hold it in and you just really have to go pee.

I suffer the exact issues everyone else does and have come to think it is related to some form of lower back nerve issue causing our water works irritation particularly when sitting in car with all our body weight pressing down on the spine , it find also this also being irritated by the shaking , vibration and general motion of car ..........Just a though but a visit or two to a good chiropractor seems to help hugely if not completely ........I fit windshields for a living and I think the throwing out of my lower back is major cause ......does anyone else get not so much Lower back pain but lower back stiffness and tightness as well ?

Even I had this problem while driving but after doing deep breathing exercises and pranayama daily, I am now able to stop the urge to urinate when driving.
