I am fighting with it from last two years. Two years back I went through all the tests asked by doctor, all tests reported negative except Montoux (for TB) but doctor said that this test is not satisfactory, it mostly gives false results and I continued with steroids. after one year when my vision got worst I opted for changing my doctor, The new doctor put an injection in my eye and asked me to have some more tests. The new doctor almost referred the same tests except one called "Quateriferon Gold" which along with Montoux (tested again) came positive. Both these tests were for tuberculosis. After that I am taking anti TB treatment from last two months. I am crossing my fingers for the positive results. One thing I wanna suggest that never ever leave your eye untreated, when you feel even a small attack of floaters, rush ur doctor. Hope lives will get better!
1. I asked an orthomolecular expert the question if there is a relation between the eye disease uveitis and nutrition. This expert answered as follows: I have not had a client yet who suffered from chronic uveitis . I can think of some systemic problems, such as poor quality of mucous membranes anywhere in the body, which could play a role, but a very direct link is missing. When it is a result of auto - immunity the 'leaky gut hypothesis' can play a role. But maybe it's not so important if there is a direct link. What I have discovered numerous times is that the body is going to fix things themselves when the immune system is no longer triggered on a daily basis by the wrong diet. That way I have seen several complaints disappear. Then I asked the orthomolecular expert if he could give some a more theoretical explanation: Unfortunately one doesnot know why one person may develop an autoimmune disease and the other one does not. Also, one does not know why the symptoms thereof, in some cases can be reduced to zero and in some cases not. We do often see that complaints resolve themselves with the right lifestyle. That makes sense, because the body does not need to extinguish fires but can solve real problems. The body does not need to be in short-term survival position, but can afford with the right lifestyle to solve for the long-term problems. It is unfortunately a 'black -box' model. The leaky gut hypothesis is the most substantiated . There is a lot possible by simply skip cereals and treat the intestines. However, science is not yet so far to explain the results we can achieve in practice. 2. On a Belgium website I found a story of somebody who recovered from uveitis. Early 2000 I was diagnosed with vasculitis, an autoimmune disease that affects the blood vessels. This disease is considered a chronic inflammatory connective tissue disease associated in turn with the rheumatic diseases again. In the years that preceded the diagnosis I had severe inflammation of the choroid of the eye (uveitis), resulting in a significant reduction in my eyesight. I walked around for a few years hence with a yellow stick. Much walking around was not there by the extreme fatigue, flu-like symptoms, headache, muscle and joint pain ... As treatment I received corticosteroids, either injected into the eyes or in the form of a daily pill. Then I got a regular speech disorder. Sometimes I did know not the way home even though I was on familiar ground. I got more and more problems with concentration and an all overwhelming fatigue. My left side was paralyzed in a day. This day gave reason to the diagnosis, which was never considered completely certain. MS or sarcoidosis were the alternatives. If treatment I received Endoxan, a chemo. Then when one my children was diagnosed ADHD and Asperger, the doctor talked about a merger between autism and Crohn's disease-like illness. This got me thinking as Crohn's disease had also been reviewed as a possible diagnosis. By going to read, I found out that the presence of gluten in our diet was perhaps partly responsible for our fatigue, intestinal problems etc. We followed an elimination diet that showed that we both could not endure cow's milk, soy and gluten. We changed our diet and the results were spectacular. Since then I have never had uveitis or severe brain problems. My daughter felt meanwhile also fitter. What remained was the extreme fatigue, connective tissue inflammation in the muscles, tendons, etc., fog in the head, hard enduring sounds, noticing many details, eighty plans together in my head ... A bell was ringing because many of these complaints I had as a child. I also have demonstrated ADD and a strong overlap with autism. Through Noglut we came into contact with Lucas. With his help, it was a lot better, less tired, clearer-headed, less forgetful .... Unfortunately remained that persist miserable connective tissue inflammation. Not as extreme as it was once but it caused limitations. In a follow-up appointment Lucas brought LDN (Low Dose Naltrexone) discussed. After long (too long) reflection and consultation with a psychiatrist A. Smilde, I take ten days 1mg LDN. From the first day the pavements were softer tissue! And every morning when I get up more of that misery is gone. For the first time in years I can look back again. I feel calmer, happier, less pain, less tired. The only minus is bad sleep but we also did in the time we ate gluten and milk. Still, I feel less tired than ten days ago while I did it quickly fell asleep. Thanks Lucas and Dr. Smilde !!!

I had recurring iritis for more than ten years with 4 or 5 occurances per year. Very painful, very light sensitive. Always treated with a course of Predforte, which worked but took a full month to taper off of. Doctor told me there was no cure and no way of preventing a flare up.
About two and a half years ago I decided to try a gluten free diet to see if I could lose a little weight. After four months I realized that although I didn't lose any weight, I also didn't get an iritis. So I decided to keep it up and see how long I could go without a new iritis. So far so good, I am still iritis free.
I'm not as strict about the diet as a celiac sufferer has to be, like I don't check bottled salad dressing to be sure it is GF, but I try my best to keep wheat especially from ever crossing my lips, and I will never go back.
I don't know if it would work for anyone else, but if you're miserable because of your uveitis/iritis what have you got to lose by trying a GF diet.

Hi I have same problem like you. Now how is your eye? Do you went any treatment? I have past 10 years intermediate uveitis problem. I am searching the solution .I would like to save my eyes. If you had any solution please help me come out this problem.
Thanks,
I was diagnosed with uveitis in 1976 and have been on steroids constantly since that time. Through the years doctors have tried to wean me off to no avail! My recent doctor said I'm steroid dependent!! I have had injections which do help but itsya temporary fix. One drop per eye of pred forte would manage me but now I'm yo have flare up even taking drops once a day per eye
