Hi .. I can't believe it. I thought nobody had as much burning vaginal pain as me. One OBGYN thought I had AIDs because of all the yeast infections I complained about, but I have been tested and every single test is coming back negative, so I'm healthy as far as STDs. Yeah, I almost died of sheer terror waiting for the results of those tests! Now many times I have been tested for a yeast infection and had it come up negative. I just don't believe that when i have every symptom. My other OBGYN yeah I have a whole team of freakin Docs working on this, but he said it was hormonal and dryness due to menopause. He prescribed Premrin for hormone replacement therapy. and that seemed to help, but it seemed to mess up my hormones and I broke out with massive pimples, and a major yeast infection, so I quit using that. I got that infection cleared up and was feeling better when I noticed the burning returned after oral sex. This is what I have concluded: It may be hormonal possibly at any age. When ever there is a hormonal imbalance. I have IC as well itesrual cycistitis. Between bladder pain and vaginal burning I can not tell where the pain originates until I have a full blown yeast infection with all the symptoms. Then I know which I have to treat because I have gone to self medicating I get so frustrated. Also Im allergic to latex so condoms with latex will cause a bout of burning as well. Eating acidic foods will start another bout of pain too. That seems to be bladder related though. I noticed that foods will cause a yeast infection or burning sometimes. Such as yogurt, maybe candy, yeasty breads and red wine. Yet I can drink as much beer as I want and feel auctually better. It seems to mostly be helping rinse out my bladder. What I use for burning yeast infections and I don't recommend this because it's primarily used for infant mouth thrush. I figure if you can swab a babies mouth to releive a fungal, then why not swab out the vagina and I get instant releif from this product. It's called gentian violet. It is sold or ordered over the counter at pharmacies. I asked for it at Wal mart when my pediatrician suggested it for my babies thrush. It's a purple liquid that is topical, but it cleared up the thrush and iliviated the discomfort after swabbing the tounge twice a day for several days. I just use a q tip and do the same thing vaginally. I use it less often due to possible drying of sensitive vaginal tissue. The doc has seen the purple vagina and wondered what the hell, I explained all of this and she just shrugged and said ok. I don't know what else to do. I understand that too much fungal cream can cause an intolerance to the product. Thanks for reading my contribution to the subject. The other statements really helped me out.

Hi All!  I (literally) feel your pain. I've suffered with chronic vaginal pain as well. Along with all the treatments that don't seem to work. I've also had surgery for vulvadynia - (didn't help at all.) I am in my mid forties now. The best advice I have for you is, firstly, know that you are beautiful and that there are so many other women going through the same thing. Don't give up. Keep searching for answers. Also- communication, communication, communication! Talk about it with your partner - make sure they understand what you are going through. It's so important to have a loving, supportive partner. Keep a journal of your pain/symptoms to give your gyno. Find a gyno that is willing to take the time to work with you on this. If they don't have the time, or are rushing you, take your business elsewhere!! Other pointers - ALWAYS pee after sex! Wipe your tushy from front to back after a bowel movement, and drink water all day long!! love and peace to you all ~

First, get checked out for cystitis.

If it isn't cystitis, cranberry tablets, a couple of painkillers and vagisil work for me. Also, drink loads of water.

Irritants causing this can be too tight pants, chlorine from swimming pools etc. Good luck!

Thisis horrible!!! I too have this burning pain. It started a month ago when i got my period, thought it might have been from a soap i used(irish spring)..it stayed a week or so closer to the clit and felt a bit like a UTI. Then it died down and ever since my last period, it burns like crazy at the 'ring' of the vagina when i try having sex. My poor husband!!!

has anyone gone south and swam in salt water since they'vehad this? I once had an east infection and im usually against taking medication. It happened to be a week before i was going to cuba so i sat in yogurt for 5 mins and washed with chamomile tea every night and though it got better, it didnt fully go away until i spent a good 30 mins in the ocean. This is why im wondering if anyone has tried this and had success? I will gladly pay the money to sit in the ocean and cure this!!!!

please HELP!   Im going to the doctor next week, ill write back if she has a cure! =)

Is Ural available where you live? It's a urinary alkaliser powder, so it reduces acidity and stinging. It comes in sachets and you mix with water. The instant I feel discomfort I have a glass, pop a cranberry tablet and drink loads of water. I hope you can get similar relief. Also, try and wear cotton underpants and at bedtime no underpants at all.

This is a link if you can't find Ural:

Shortly after my D&C procedure,  the inside of my vagina was on fire. It has been three months now and I'm still having discomfort down there. I saw my gyn doctor and was told I have yeast infecton. My first visit I received three refiils whch I used but to no avail. I went back for the second time and again was told the same thing. This time I was treated with Terconazole cream instead of the suppository. I am now on my second refill and no improvement. This ongoing problem is annoying and not pleasant. There is no odor nor unpleasant discharge. I dont know what to do. I need help. Please advice! Thank you!
