Hi,

I have not had a period for 3.5 years and am still gaining weight even with exercise. The doctors have been hopeless and told me to "come back and see us when you want to get pregnant." I have had a scan and there are "signs" of Polycystic Ovaries but with no "official" diagnosis. I have no desire to get pregnant at the moment as I am career minded. I am 29 but I am starting to worry that there may be something wrong with me. 3.5 years is a long time!

Any ideas or help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi wannabethinagain, I would be going to a different doctor and getting a referral to a gynecologist. also, do you have a history of eating disorders? That can affect your periods. So can excessive exercise or hormonal issues. You need to be really firm with your doctors and not let them fob you off. Ask around among your friends for recommendations for a gynecologist who they trust and respect. I hope that helps.
