urs sounds very similar to what just happened to me... i had d bright caleidoscop.. sharp dtretching from small in d center of my vision to bigger and moving away from d center.. to d left for me... stayed about 15min.. was about to panic if it lasted bit longer..

This has been happening to me too for the last 2 months. This happens at random say about 10 times a day. The phenomena is yellow or white blob of light sails across the eye for about 2 to 3 seconds. I am 71 and eye sight is reasonably good and do not wear glasses though there is some power and doctors have been suggesting cataract for the past 10 years. Is this a disorder that needs medical attention?

Hi. :). I really can relate to your response. I've been going to an acupuncturist herbal doctor for my bones and migraines. I'm getting the same light flashes by my right eye. Today my doctor ruled out that the lights were from my migraines. The migraine aura is much different. She said it was inlightenment. My third eye is opening. And I'm agreeing with your sister.. It is my guardian angel watching over me. :) I found this message board by accident .

I HAVE BEEN HAVING FLASHING IN BOTH EYES MAINLY AT NIGHT IN BED, WENT TO OPTICHIONS THEY SAID MY EYES WERE O.K .BUT THEY WERE STILL THE SAME .SO WENT TO MY G.P WHO HAS NOW REFERED ME TO THE HOSPITAL TO HAVE THEM CHECKED .WAITING FOR APP.
I just had the flashing lights around the outside of my right eye for the first time last night and then again this morning. My eye doctor wants to see me right away...tomorrow and they wouldn't let me make a later appt. The receptionist said it could be something that can cause permanent eye damage so I will be sure to make my appt. tomorrow for sure. I will fill you in after my appt. if they discover anything. I don't get migraines so it's not related to that. ???????

I saw a neurologist & opthamologist for what seems to be identical to your description. We decided to skip out on brain scans until the opthamplogist had gone through every test imaginable. Just before going in to the neuro, the eye specialists brought me in for a test they don't generally do, especially with a patient who is in there kid 20's. They diagnosed me with Central Serous Retinopathy.
I have been able to adapt to the intervals of strange mirage like circles and their glaring shiny edges, but have recently started to feel a strange "pulling" in the same eye. This pressure is often followed by small bright blue & white lights that others on this feed have described. As of recently, I have started to get a strange feeling tha this "pulling" is not bad and before falling asleep, I feel myself allowing its force to guide my attention, thoughts, and consciousness to a place of loud hums, frantic body twitching (myself, but more often my girlfriend) and/or strange lights.

I was having that and my eye exams were normal. Decided to get off diet cokes for a diet and realized the flashes went away!! I guess it was the aspartame.

I had an ocular attack today that looked like a letter C with x's and squares around its perimeter. My vision is blurry and a headache is just starting three hours after the lights. I also experienced an aurora borealis in the eye which preceded the C which had blue and silver lights with an orangy colour half way down the C. I also have Bechet's disease.
