The same thing has been happening to me for the past few months. I've noticed that it started around the time I got a desk job and put on 10 pounds. I also remember having this problem for about a year or so in high school when I was gained some weight senior year (everyone said it was anxiety related), and it kind of just going away when I went to college and lost weight. I looked up a few things online to see if the two could be connected in any way, and I found that morning nausea is connected with estrogen changes in women which can include contraceptives or weight gain. Even if you are not technically overweight, an increase in body fat encourages the body to make more Estrone, which can have several different effects depending on the person. Hope this helps!

My name is Lin I am 44 and this feeling of nausea started 4 months ago for me. The only thing that I changed at the time was a decrease in meds. Finally, I went back on the old dose of meds as I just felt so sick every morning starting around 4 am. 'tThis did not work at all. I don't know if any of you have experienced your nausea after a decrease in meds, but i'd be interested in knowing.

I have had morning nausea for 9 years; the first year I was pregnant, but it never went away after that. I have learned that a can of coke in the morning helps a lot. While it's not the best for you & certainly isn't good for your teeth, it's better than vomiting! I, too, have low blood pressure & all the symptoms of hypoglycemia, although the test came back negative years ago. I find that watching my diet works pretty well & being careful not to brush your teeth immediately before bed. I hope all of us can get past this!

I love that you and your doctor addressed the cause of your nausea and chose not to just mask it with a pill. Digestive issues usually can be diagnosed and fixed with strict adherence to a diet that will heal the inflammation causing the nausea. Doctors are trained to write presscriptions for ailments; few are taught to look for the cause and work on healing it rather than using what often ends up being a life-long bandaid for an ailment that can be cured. Hurray for alternative medicines and natural cures. It often requires more work and research, but the results are definitely worth the effort and you can remain free of the side effects that accompanies most medications.

Have you read anything about lack of iodine (apparently, it is epidemic in North America and many other parts of the world too)? It is important to eat foods with selenium to balance with iodine.

time to see a Chiropractor and a Acupuncturist. That is what I am going to recommend to my daughter who has the same thing. She has had a hysterectomy and quit smoking 2 yrs ago, wine drinker casual. I see both of these healers and havent been sick for over 9 yr=ears.

I have been experiencing these symptoms too. Never have thrown up but nauseous every morning and also in the evening around 7PM. Not pregnant and eating a gluten free diet for awhile now, so these symptoms came out of nowhere. I haven't seen my doctor yet but after asking around and doing some research on my own I think it might be anxiety. Nausea, loose stools, hot and cold flashes, and fatigue are all symptoms of anxiety. I would often feel fearful for no reason, or have scary thoughts, before the bouts would come on. I see a lot of people who posted that their doctor could not find anything wrong--did they look into stress and anxiety? After doing some treatment for the anxiety, the symptoms are getting much better for me. Good luck and wishing everyone well!

Hi LIn, I also decreased meds before the nausea started and I had a very difficult time with stopping ambien, but I finally did stop taking ambien. Since that's a sleep medicine, I thought I should mention it, but I am not sure it's significant.
Here's what happens to me: This is worse if I am very stressed or do not drink enough water the day before. I started out looking at cortisol as a cause, but wasn't able to find any description of how somebody actually feels in the grip of high cortisol, so I couldn't find any success there.
I start waking up and I notice I am shaking and exhausted, not refreshed. I need to visit the toilet, but if I stand up I may vomit. Bright light is painful, I carefully go to toilet and notice the urine is cloudy, very cloudy but not dark, just normal yellow. No foul odor. By the next time, it's clear, it's only cloudy in the morning. So I assume it's to do with dehydration, but maybe it's a UTI. Too many times, though, I've had negative UTI tests, and I'd have to sleep at the doc's office to have the morning urine tested.
I'm not cold, but I'm shaky, trembling all over and afraid I'll fall if I do anything, so I go back to bed for about half an hour. I should drink something, but I can't even make it to the kitchen. Eventually thirst becomes intense and I get a huge glass of water and drink it. In about 15 minutes I'm better, but not "well." The nausea isn't gone, but it's less. The shaking is about half and I take a shower, etc.
In an hour or two, the entire episode is gone and I feel fine. The next day, the cycle repeats. Am I allergic to morning, or is something wrong?
Note that no matter how much water I drink before bed, it has no effect. If it's dehydration, then something happens at night to cause it... but what?

I have also had random nausea for about 2 years now. It is always in the mornings. Sometimes I have to call in sick for work because I can't get off the bathroom floor. I am always it seems better by at the latest noon. I am not pregnant. I do have GERD, anxiety disorder and dispepsia, and other similar issues. I am afraid of losing my job because I feel so sick I can't even hardly get ready in the morning. I need someone there to help me get moving and eat something..then I gradully get better. No one seems to know why I am like this. I hate it and am afraid its going to get worse. It does seem I am sicker the earlier I have to get up also. I feel for everyone on here and would love some answers too.

I am 52 years old and have had morning nausea for about three weeks now. I also have soft bowel movements almost as soon as I'm out of bed. I've had blood tests done and everything is fine there. I'm scheduled for an ultrasound tomorrow. I have found forcing down a piece of toast with honey helps a lot and usually about an hour later eat a banana. I feel pretty good after a few hours but it starts again the next morning. I've been hardly eating because I'm afraid to and have been burping alot during the day. I've lost about 10 lbs or more. At night I've been sleeping elevated because I thought it might be reflux. I am sleeping better but the nausea is always there in the mornings. I have never thrown up and so far have never had a fever. Any ideas? Is there something I can take to stop that terrible feeling?
