Wow, I didn't read all the posts, but what a huge problem! I have experienced this too, but I started taking magnesium supplement a few months ago to try to help control my migraines. The bonus side effect is that I have also felt much better every morning when I wake up. Who knows, maybe we all just have a deficiency of some nutrient.

Hi guys, I had an eerily similar problem that ended up being caused by a new vitamin I took. It was some Super Foods concoction with a stress relief formula. Boy did they get that one wrong, talk about a stress INDUCER. I stopped taking it, and my symptoms immediately DISAPPEARED. Have any of you considered small changes like the one I've described?

I have the same thing. I'm 43 and have been dealing with this now for the past 5 yearrs. Gone for test after test. I have GERDS and my gallbladder only drains at 80% of its normal rate. I've been put on medicine to help the gallbladder, and another to help retrain the esophogus to relax when I go into a gag fit.

As soon as I wake, laying in bed I can feel the nausea in my tummy. It cause me to gag, and vomit up a slimy mucus, with a little stomach acid but not much. This feel stays until I drink two glasses of water and gag at the kitchen sink for 15 to 20 min until the feeling goes away. It's gone until the next morning. Sometimes I get into a gaggy, coughy fit during the day, and I'll drink something and feeling is gone, but no nausea to go with it.

I believe mine is directly related to the GERDS and Gallbladder. I think it's the combination of stomach acid and bile from the gallbladder. The more run down, stresses, and busy I am, the worse it seems to be.

I'm so tired of this, and my biggest fear is that everyone is overlooking something, and I find out I have something serious, like stomach cancer. Or that I develop cancer in the esophogus because of the stomach acid damaging it. There have been studies to prove this....Great....make sure you get on meds for GERDS.

Ive read some of the post here and these cases of morning sickness happen to me making my mornings suck and im only 12 when i am dont getting ready for school and i go down stairs i start fealling sick to my stomach an absolutly nothing sounds good to me so i dont eat. When i do eat i end up throwing it up on the bus wich has lande me in the front seat. But even if i dont throw up i still feel like it. This makes my mornings horrible because i am really hungry in the morning but cant eat becuase i dont feel good and i know i will get sick on the bus afterward. I do get motion sickness but i dont think this is the reason. It alwsys goes away after i get to school leaving me starving or after i throw up. We are not aloud to eat in the morning at my school either and i have no time. I never get sick on the weekends though and when i get up i can eat right away i think that is because i wake up late on the weekends about 10 to 11 am and on school mornings i wake up at around 5:30 am. Could it be that im just not a morning person and have to deal with it or should i see a docter about this? Or is there any home remedies that work well to or over the counter medicines i could take to stop this from happening in the morning.

I too have been suffering from morning sickness and i'm 68 years old...no i'm not pregs. I am disheartened to read about so many women suffering from the same things. I've seen 2 GI drs., a nuitricianist, and my primary dr. the diagnosis is IBS and GERD, but I do not know what to eat or not eat. My favorite remedy is orange Gatorade! that and or Ginger Ale does help, and eating toast and tea witha bit of jam, and waiting a few hours and then I usually feel better. If anyone out there can help, PLEASE answer.

thank you, IVY

I am 23 years old and I have had this since I was about 16 or 17. My mom and my grandma (my dad's mom though), have this same issue too. I am convinced (for me at least) it is somewhat hereditary and somewhat has to do with my diet. I love Dr. Pepper and when I drink it often (at least one can a day) I am sure to get my morning sickness. My grandma and I cannot eat breakfast! If we eat anything it is a piece of toast or something bland like that. What I have found helps me, is to drink a small glass of iced tea or juice in the morning right when I get up (I can't handle water in the morning either.) I prefer iced tea with just a little bit of honey or sugar. I do not know why this helps me but it does. I also know that stress can bring it on too. When I got married and started eating healthier the morning sickness did lessen. Probably because I can't afford to buy Dr. Pepper! lol Just for the record, in now way am I a doctor and I have no medical training, this is purely from experience. :-P

I also have this and can get no answers from my GPs. I have had it for 15 years that I can remember, it sometimes doesn't happen and is sometimes worse/better than normal but I cannot find a pattern! I have thought I was pregnant so many times when I wasn't. I am a 24 year old female. It seems at a glance that most of the other posters are female? Could it be hormonal? I have various abdominal pains and very irregular periods so I don't know if its all connected. My GP suggested it could be stress related but like I said, there seems to be no pattern. This year I have started writing down all symptoms and food and generally how I'm feeling in a diary.

I have found avoiding exercise in the morning to be helpful, also when it is severe like today I drink a sugary instant ginger drink which is a lifesaver, however sometimes I can't face it! For years I drank honey in hot water every morning and now I can't face that. I think its good to find something that suits you that you can eat or drink for breakfast even if it is tiny like maybe a dry cracker or some nuts or a few dry bran flakes.

as for hormonal. I'm male and this has been happening to me for at least a couple years now (i'm 27.) Sometimes it is gas, but that comes with more of a terrible pain rather than nausea. Honestly, and i know everyone can't do this, But I take a couple hits of marajuana. I don't have to get blitzed. Just a couple puffs and within a few minutes it starts to subside. Then I'm able to eat, Otherwise it's really hard for me to eat in the morning. And usually it won't entirely go away unless I have breakfast (Or getting friggin' stoned.) So, if you can't smoke, just try to eat something really small and light, maybe? I find that my stomach is usually empty in the mornings, I have a very fast metabolism. So, I don't feel better until I eat, but I don't wanna eat until I feel better. That's where the pot comes in. I'm looking for answers too.

Hi. I'm a 23 year old female (not pregnant) and I've had this since being a teen. Like other people have said it's definitely worse if I don't have enough sleep. I wake up feeling a bit sick, then get up and ready and the feeling worsens. I'll either throw up and then feel better or feel really awful until mid morning when the nausea starts to subside.

I can't eat anything for at least a couple of hours after waking up or I will throw up, but I can usually (not always) tolerate a drink of water or tea.

Hey guys. I am 22 years old and have suffered with the same ''morning sickness'' for about 4 years. I have been through everything from allergy testing to ultrasounds and my doctor is still as stumped as the start. I dont think people understand how debilatating it is to suffer this way. It impacts my day hugely. A few pointers that help me (and will hopefully help you too) I never eat after 7pm and all food after lunch is very wholesome and low fat. Sleeping in a propped up position (incase its a reflux) and thirdly (thank you granny!) Take a glass of carbonated water and add lemon juice, lots of lemon juice and the tiniest pinch of salt. It settles my nausea enough so that I can get on with my day (I carry it around in a bottle)

I really hope you guys get fixed up soon. I think more research needs to be done clearly for something that is affecting so many people, yet there are so little answers

,Love and peace,

Nina x

I have been struggling for the past 18 months with chronic fatigue syndrome or adrenal fatigue and have had problems with a very sensitive liver for many years. I recently took a long flight (20 hours) during which I became very nauseous and kept feeling as though I was going to pass out. I thought I may have picked up a tummy bug, however, these symptoms seem to have persisted for almost a week now. I too have been waking up at around 2am and unable to sleep due to the nausea. I have also not been able to eat much as everything makes me feel ill. I have done some research during these early morning times and have discovered that I need to do a liver detox as all my symptoms indicate that I have a severe case of liver toxicity. It appears that at about 2am is when the liver is functioning at its peak during the sleep pattern and thus the reason we wake up with the nausea.

Having chronic fatigue syndrome, it is recommended that I shouldn't do a detox, but I'm in a catch 22 situation as I desperately need high amounts of protein to help me through every day, which I am unable to have as everything makes me feel ill except for pure juices, so I'm planning to follow a liver detox diet and see how I feel. Perhaps those of you who have been experiencing similar symptoms should look into the liver and colon cleanses as it seems to be exactly the right diagnosis.

Once I have completed this detox, I will be moving onto the Maker's Diet which is an absolutely fantastic, sensible and simple eating lifestyle that we have forgotten exists. I would recommend you read this book as it could change your whole life and perspective on the way in which we eat. I hate fad diets and complicated eating plans, this is thankfully anything but.

I have found it most frustrating as most medical Dr's can only identify one's symptoms if they fit into the pharmaceutical companies list of medical conditions, anything outside of that seem to leave many Dr's stumped.

I am 17 and suffering from the same symptoms. Every morning I wake up nauseous and faint. I usually end up vomiting somewhere between half an hour and 4 hours after waking up. After about 5 hours, I feel completely normal, aside from a lack of appetite. I hypothesize that my symptoms may be caused by stress and anxiety (as I have suffered from anxiety attacks in the past), but I have nothing in particular to be stressing over.
Even though nothing has improved, I'm glad to see that I am not alone in this- though I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Best of luck to all!
