I need to know what the throid sonogram will tell me? I am having an impossible time losing weight...does the thyroid make me gain weight. I am currently on levoxyl 0.88.

Thyroid sonogram is actually a ultrasound that gives you an image of your thyroid. Your doctor will use thyroid sonogram if you have some problems with thyroid. Usually problems may refer to lumps on neck raising from thyroid. The sonogram is used for analysis of the thyroid nodules, to see if they are benign or they need to be biopsied.
The good thing about thyroid sonogram is that it shows a real time image and it can be very helpful with the biopsy. If you are gaining weight there is a good possibility that your thyroid is not functioning well and doctor wants to see if you have any nodules on your thyroid. How much weight have you gained?
