Hello. I'm 22 year old female and just recently I was diagnosed with varicella infection. My sister’s kids have it and I got infection just from being in the same room with them.
I haven’t got it while I was young. All I know about it is that it is viral infection and that you can have it only once per lifetime. But recently I have read some information about it and there is one term that was a bit confusing to me- it is some ganglionitis which occur after infection. I would like to hear more about it and about possible signs of this strange inflammation!

Well, like you already said- ganglionitis is some kind of ganglion inflammation. I don’t know how much do you know about all this but we are talking about ganglion of the trigeminal nerve that is located in head, and about sacral ganglion which is located in pelvis.
After primary skin infection, the varicella zoster virus is spreading via nerves in these ganglions and stays there for the rest of your life. There are no symptoms or sign that could tell you that your ganglions are infected. Only possible symptom is reinfection that could occur later in life. We are not talking about new infection, but only about reactivation of the viruses located in these ganglions!
