Hello. I'm 45 year old male and just recently I have started to experience some strange symptoms such as severe abdominal pain, fever, loss of appetite, and nausea.
For a long time I was trying to figure out what could be the trigger of my symptoms but without any success. So, I have decided to contact my gastrologist because of this problem.
He told me that he can't tell what's going on with me until he perform some lipase test. So he scheduled me in three days for this test. Can someone tell me more about it. How is it performed?

I know some facts that could help you to understand these things.
You first must know that lipase is an enzyme that is found in intestine and blood and its primary role is to break down dietary fats into an absorbable form. It is produced by pancreas so every deficit of this enzyme can point you on some pancreas disease such as cystic fibrosis,
Indigestion, celiac disease or even Crohn’s disease. It can perfomed really quickly because blood is drawn from a vein on the inside of the elbow and everything is done in a couple of seconds. Wish you luck!
