I have heard about precum and I know that it is some kind of a fluid coming from a guy’s penis before the ejaculation but I would like to know what it exactly is. My boyfriend says that precum cannot cause a girl to get pregnant, but to me everything coming from a guy’s penis is potentially dangerous, and I always make him wear a condom. Am I right can precum cause pregnancy?

Precum or pre-ejaculate is a fluid coming from the penis and is produced by man’s bulbourethral glands. The main bulbourethral gland is the prostate, and there are also few smaller glands that are situated in the body of the penis. They produce clear liquid that is similar to other mucous excretion of the body, the main difference is the different contents of proteins and increased concentration of sugars like fructose. Precum’s main purpose is cleaning the urethra from any bacteria or the leftovers of urine, also precum is a lubricant that is used for lubrication of the glans and foreskin during the intercourse. Depending on the person precum may or may not contain small amounts of spermatozoids, the chances of pregnancy are small but, since in theory, only one sperm is enough to get a woman pregnant there’s still a chance that the pregnancy will happen. It would be the safest to use condoms during the entire duration of the sexual intercourse.

But if the female is on bithcontrol mainly the Shot can precum still get the girl pregnant?

No, birth control is taken to prevent pregnancy, so the chances of getting pregnant by sperm or precum are minimal. I think birth control pills/shots are 99% effective.

I can help you understand how contraceptives work, so that you can understand the whole idea.
Birth control pills that contain both female hormones estrogen and progestin trick the body into believing that the woman is pregnant. Excessive estrogen prevents ovulation and therefore no egg is released from the ovary and progestin thickens the mucus found in the cervix (the beginning of the uterus) and prevents sperm to get in. It also doesn’t let the uterine lining to develop normally (uterine lining is made for the fetus to implant) and therefore even if the egg is fertilized, it cannot implant and the pregnancy won’t occur.

As you can see, with the minimum chance of getting pregnant from precum, getting pregnant from precum while on birth control are even smaller.

Lets put it this way, if your precum gets a girl pregnant while she is on birth control, I would recommend playing the lottery.

If that's what you think, then you're sadly mistaken. I personally was conceived while my mother was on birth control. I also know of at least 6 or 7 other people who were born under the same circumstances. In fact, my best friend is expecting a son right now and his wife is obsessive about taking her pill every day. Fact is, while it's 99-99.9% effective, that still says that 1 out of every 100-1000 times you have sex, you're likely to conceive, depending on the contraceptive used. Birth control is not a sure-fire thing. It won't absolutely work every single time.

If you believe that birth control is always effective, you are sadly mistaken. I personally was conceived while my mother was on the pill. I also know of at least 6-7 other people who were conceived under the same circumstances. In fact, my best friend is expecting a son right now, and his wife is obsessive about taking her pill. The fact is, even though birth control is 99-99.9% effective, that still means that 1 out of 100-1000 times it doesn't work, depending on the type of birth control used. Birth control isn't a sure-fire thing, and if the lottery were as easy to win as the odds of conceiving while on birth control, I'd be rich by now.

You are definitely correct in not believing either the pill or condoms are 100%. There is always the chance that a woman could get pregnant while on birth control. However, what was said is that while on BCP's or condoms, pre-cum was most likely not where the sperm came from. The pregnancies created were most likely from the actual orgasmic ejaculation(s).

I also had my youngest son while on birth control pills. He has genetic problems that dont run in my family. I blame it on the birth control, but my dr says otherwise. I just believe since she ordered the prescription she is savin her butt. I still believe the pill caused my sons problems. He has williams syndrome no one in the family has this.

The Birth rate for William's Syndrome is quite rare, about 1 in 7,500. So it is possible that the condition does run in your family and it just has not presented until now. The condition is also relatively new. It was first identified in 1961. Therefore, some one in your family prior to the discovery of it could have had it as well and just been mis-diagnosed, if at all. The only reason I say this is because there are no conclusive studies that link genetic disorders to oral contraceptives.

Ya but if you were actually reading, they were talking about precum getting a girl on birthcontrol pregnant. Of course you can get pregnant while on birth control, but rarely by precum.
