I take Metfromin, I have been taking it for about 10 months and I never notice this until about a month ago. Maybe it is connected with Metfromin for those of us taking that pill. Mine was off white and shaped like a oval bean. I did not open it or anything. I figured it had to be a pill I took that did not ingest. Now I am getting a little worried with all the post.

I found my first "bean" today. I have been bloated with nausea for 2 weeks and have had a night of vomiting. I thought it was the flu until i saw the bean, though mine was oval and spongy. I noticed a commom organ in these posts and i myself have also had my gallbladder removed. i wonder if there is a connection

On Metformin ER 500 at night...and Glipizide in morning for newly diagnosed Diabetes II....Bowel transit time is quicker (2-3 hrs) and gel capsuled Metformin is in bowel movement....Pharmacist said outside binder is not medication..and inside the gel capsule is the Metformin...he suggested asking for regular Metformin substitute...My feeling is that this non-absorbed medication does 1)create a charge for unused meds 2)alters the actual true readings for glucose levels which could mean a roller coaster of new med prescriptions and side effects....Why not be looking for avenues of increasing stomach "acids" to help breakdown of meds so you reap their benefits or pharmacological approach to different "liner " of meds so absorption is quicker ? How can you get a handle on your problem if you are based on these criteria ? Since I have read these threads and see a common complaint why is something not uniformly being done to correct this for us ?The toll that diabetes can take on us is frightening and we need to have the medical community working ON our behalf as much as WE have to work on OUR behalf !

GMO foods could be the cause - especially corn - within these foods are insecticides built into the DNA - the insecticide is meant to eat away at the digestive tract of an insect and kill it that way... i think it's doing that to people here - maybe won't affect everyone but those who already have intestinal probs will see more problems. We are what we eat - it's true. I had belly issues all my life and then i started eating all organic and cutting out all wheat, all processed sugars, soy products (incl soy lecitin), MSG, -- seriously it's easy just eat organic fruit and veg, chicken, organic dairy... when you cut out all the crappy foods, you'll see a different in 2 weeks! prob sooner... try it out and see, i'd love to hear feedback from others. It worked for me... taking the "old fashioned" doctor's advice of exercise and eating right... for those who have med probs unrelated to stress or the way our organic body can't break down some of these foods and these foods are not treating us right... then we need to change what we put into our guts... make them healthy... thanks all.

From what I have read these are known as "Casein Curds" and have something to do with the absorbsion of fat in your bowel. Nancy, I wouldn't doubt your theory about the GMO's as well. I still don't know if the presence of these little torpedos in the stool are indicative of anything sinister. They can't be normal for sure.
