I would stay far away from anything that has red in it. Sports drinks, Jello, icys, ice cream ect. This can make things tricky with knowing the scabs on your throat are bleeding or not. Yes we all know what blood is and what it looks like. However, I'd avoid anything red for the 1st 2 weeks. Believe it or not my 2nd day I had Mac n cheese and mashies plus Boiled hotdogs. I was absolutely starving. The more I would eat, the less it hurt. The less I ate, the more my throat would dry up and hurt to swallow. Now I'm on day 3 with a low grade fever. Still hurts like hell but I think I'll be ok...Never thought at 36 I'd be getting my tonsils removed.
