Hello, I am 32 years old and I am in my third month of pregnancy. Everything goes well so far but still, I am concerned about how the things will end. I hope that I will be able to deliver the baby without any problems but I am also clueless about what to do after. I know that I will be even afraid to hold the baby in my arms. When do babies usually gain control of the neck?
Well, concerning the fact that the babies can sit on their own at the age of about 6 months we can say with certainty that the neck control starts after couple of months. And don’t be that afraid, even though babies are, well babies, they are not that fragile and they grow up very fast. So enjoy yours while it is still small and tiny.

Hi. My baby is 3 weeks old and is gaining more and more neck strength every day. I can hold her on my shoulder now with only an arm under her bum, or around her back. If she's laying on her belly she can start to lift her head up. I sit her on my lap alot, with my hands cradled under her armpits and my fingers holding her head up. We also try to burp her in a 'sitting up facing us' position. I would recommend getting a boppy (horseshoe shaped pillow and placing it around your waist while feeding/burping/putting to sleep...and also baby can lay in there too!

It won't be long until you feel more comfortable, trust me!

Good luck!

How old do my babies have to be until I can start holding them on my hip?
