hi i'm 20 years old and i recently had a abortion this past april 1st 2011, due to a terrible car accident. Its been very difficult for me since i was 19 weeks along and not only that but my sister, cousin, and best friend are all pregnante with almost the same time as i would have been. i dont blame god for anything because it isn't his fault, but i was wondering how long should i wait to consive agian, because some doctors say 6 months other 3 and ive heard of poeple who have gotten pregnant a month afterward. i just want to know when its really safe because i was so excited.

I'm so sorry that you had to abort your pregnancy because of such reason. And yes, it's definitely harder when you know that there was no choice or that anything could have been done. But, as far as the new pregnancy is concerned, yes, it's possible to get pregnant as soon as you start to ovulate after the abortion, but that also depends on how are you doing now, after the car accident? It would be the best if you talked to your gynecologist who will be able to give you the right advice on what to do - you first have to make sure you are healthy and capable of carrying the pregnancy, that is what would be best for both you and your baby.

Its usually possible and safe for you to get pregnant a few months after an abortion. Id say wait until your periods are normal and on cycle again tho. I know how you feel. In 2008 I was due on my birthday to have spinal fusion surgery . My leg was numb and burned and hurt so bad I couldnt even walk to the kitchen without crying. I had been in bed for 2 months. The day I went to have my surgery I desperately needed I was told they couldnt do it because I was pregnant! I was crushed because I knew right away my body couldnt handle being pregnant. My doctor told me I could become paralyzed if I continued the pregnancy. A few of my family members judged me and were really horrible. I really had no choice and did terminate. Dont beat yourself up over it. You will be able to go on and have lots of babies if you want!
