When is the best time to perform the surgery of anorectal malformation on a baby?

Our little so, who will soon be four months old, has already been diagnosed with anorectal malformation, and will need to undergo surgery at some point. We are a bit confused about the whole procedure because different doctors have told us different things about when the best time would be to undergo the surgery.
