When I run outside-I step outside the door, put the GPS unit on and go.

When I run inside, I put the treadmill down, stand over it, start it and go.

I live in a townhouse and mine start and end on weekdays right at my front door as soon as I pass the backend of my Honda CR-V.

:( I know I should warm up first. The only time I do warm up is a slower run before speed work. Almost always, though, I'm out the door and running. I do stretch after running...if I'm not in a hurry to get somewhere.

Yeah, I start right at the bottom of the driveway and finish it at the top of my driveway. I don't stretch before or after running, does that improve results?

I find it helps a lot. Generally the first mile or two I feel stiff and somewhat uncomfortable because I'm still warming up. Stretching helps to reduce that time/distance for me. Runs just feel better with stretching. I don't really stretch a lot after, but it helps from muscles getting really tight.

I usually walk "briskly" for 4 minutes, a quick stretch and then off. If I don't do any of the above my run is usually not as good. I run in the morning and it takes that long to wake up sometimes. :D

End of my street, about a tenth of a mile from the front door.

Mine starts at the end of the driveway and finishes there too. If I'm at the gym it starts right outsidfe the front door and finishes there too. :wiggle:

I stretch after and sometimes before.

Most of my runs are in the county parks around here, or along a commuter train line, so they start in the parking lot.

When I'm running 5k I always run half a kilometer (around my block) at a slow pace before starting. When I go for my 10k run the first 2 minutes of the run I run at a slower pace, and just start at the bottom of my driveway.

End of driveway for the start - but I finish up at the corner of my block.

My run (a warmup for most of you) starts after a five minute warmup walk. When I ran during lunch break at my last job, I would walk until the GPS oriented itself. I like to walk another fifteen or twenty minutes after a run, if I have the time. Only the run portion is counted in my log.

A like running in parks. On weekdays I take a 5 minute drive to a great park nearby, in the weekends a drive a bit longer for another nice park.

To start running, you can start from a stadium, track, and park.
