They don´t just randomly appear, your taste buds die like the rest of the cells in your body. They usually take 10 - 14 days to start to die, but are quickly replaced by new taste buds unless you have mouth issues.

I have the same f***ing bumps on my tongue. I got them from some cinnamon fire jolly ranchers. I don't think I'll be taking scissors to my tongue either.

i found the cuticle clippers do the best for me, i bought a pair just for that use. i soak in peroxide then clip then clean put away until the next one pops up.

As a youngster, I would often bypass caution and experiment with various, potentially disasterous trial and error techniques in attempt to arrive at the "best" solution to all manner of life's maladies. Circumventing research, I have arrived at a fair handful of genuis-level conclusions. Alas, just as it sounds, a handful ain't much. HOWEVER, the "stroke" that "Occam's Razored" a path to a 99% flawless removal of these tiny, little, grain-of-salt lookin' penises. Let us review...
1. OBTAIN AND STERILIZE A TWEEZER (At this point, you may wish to dab the sore with ANBESOL (or similar) to numb the sting of the approaching "PLUCK". (see below)
2. USE SAID TWEEZER TO GRASP, (Not sure if "grasp" is the proper term for this procedure. Would't said tweezer then require a thumb?) AND PLUCK (To the contrary, "pluck" is THEE LONE TERM to define this action.)
3. SOFTLY WINCE

I apply alum on the sore bump. It draws fluid from the sore, which relieves the pain and seems to speed healing.
