I use a pair of scissors and cut mine off because of how big they have become over the years. A doctor showed me when I was a teenager how he did the same thing. It works for me. And there is not that much bleeding. And they seem to always come back in the same areas. I don't think that it is caused by spicy food. It happens to me if my stomach becomes upset and nauseated. Good luck do whatever works for you in my opinion.

Me too! It is the best relief- hurts a lot at first, however, the relief afterward is the reward!

I used to use nail clippers but then got a pair of really sharp cuticle scissors. Cut them off all the time and no issues. Now my 13 yo does it too!!! It can take days off them go go away and it can be uncomfortable to even talk. They are not actually taste buds tho. Those are located way inside your mouth on the deepest part of tongue

I get them as well. When I have one that is swollen, I wash my hands then I push the swollen bud against my teeth with the fingernail. My fingernail is strong enough that when it is pushed up on my tooth, it just comes off. Relief is immediate. Don't know if the buds grow back but at least the sore ones don't hurt anymore
