I'm 66 years old. I've gotten lie bumps on my tongue almost all my life. I dip small cuticle scissors in alcohol and also put a dot of peroxide on my lie bumps then cut them off. Bleeds a moment and I hold a bath cloth to the area. Pain is gone and blood stops in a few seconds. They say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. So on I go about my business.

A swollen taste bud can most certainly be a symptom of a disease from anything like lupus, herpes, mouth cancer, and even HIV. Yes absolutely it could just be an inflamed taste bud. Yoir mouth is one of the largest mucosal membranes and plays a huge part in your health and can tell you alot of things about your health status.

Hi I noticed that I get these when I eat a lot of things that are acidic like fruits, vinegar, and even sometimes fruit flavored chewing gums. If you've been eating a lot of that maybe try to cut back??

Yeah I just did there its such a relief. If you didn't grow them back in would have no tastebuds left

I cut mine off with nail clippers too, it bleeds a bit and hurts like hell for 2 seconds but it's so worth it, the frequency in which I get them has become far less since I've been clipping them off.

I have white bumps on back of tongue from last 7 days ..but I used to get acidic reflex nd m also having tonsillitis ..plz can any one tell.me what to do

i usually just take the white part off the taste buds they come off so easy. and it cuts the pain instantly in half, they only hurt when directly touched with your naturally salted finger or eat something that hurts open sores. not a good idea?

I know a lot of people to include myself that have cut or bit them off for most of my life. Only once they turn white. I numb it and get it off. It does not even bleed that much because the blood it already starting to get cut off from it anyways which is why it's white (from what I have read) when they get as bad as they are right now cutting them or biting them off is nothing compared to the pain I have to suffer from until it clears up. Everyone has their own meathod and those who ask our opinions can choose what they want to do even if our meathod sounds crazy to you. Mine came from slicing my tounge on my braces. My orthodontist said do whatever they are going to fall off eventually anyways.
