I thought that was indicative of a yeast infection or soething like that. Your doctor says that's normal? Was this your gynocologist? I am a little confused by what you were told.

My ob/gyn told me that as long as it's clear it could just be a sign of ovulation. I noticed in someones' post that it was about 2 weeks after a period. That's sounds about the time that one would ovulate. I get some Really stringy white discharge about 2 weeks before my period and sometimes it also has a tinge of red in it and I have been told that it's also normal.

Vaginal discharge, Itching, Burning, Painful Intercourse, et all are all signs of Vaginal Infections. Sometimes it can be confused with different things. The best thing to do the first time you experience any of these symptoms is to check with your gynecologist to make sure it's a yeast infection/vaginal infection and not something more serious. Otherwise, sometimes, during your normal menstrual cycle, your body goes through different hormonal phases and while you are ovulating, you may sometimes experience 'extra' discharge. As long as it's clear and there are no other symptoms (itching, burning) it's probably just your ovulation. During ovualtion, you may also experience pain, some women experience something called "ovualtion pain", though it's best to be discussed with your gynecologist first.

if it doesn't smell or taste funny and you get it regularly then do you not think that it would be best to just see a doctor? if you have ruled out the fact that it's not a yeast infection and you haven't had sex so it can't be anything to do with that, best thing to do will be to see a expert and just get their opinion.

I agree. Hopefully it won't turn out to be anything serious, but it's a good idea to have this sort of thing checked out in case it is! What do you think? Have you seen a doctor yet?

Clear white stretchy mucous discharge is NORMAL...It happens pre and during ovulation, no worries, if it isn't itchy or burning or doesnt have an odor.

I've been having mucusy white discharge with a pretty strong smell and I've only had my period for a few months and I've never had sex but I can feel the discharge coming out cuz it feels like I'm peeing my pants and my friend told me it was going thru my pants rly noticeably so I've been wearing pads alot to keep it from going thru but it's been a month or so and it hasn't changed. Not sure if it's my next period or what but I need help!

Ok erm, don't say prego. I found this feed because it just suddenly started happening to me, just like pouring out! No pain, no itching, no smell, no cottage cheese effect... I've had this happen when I'm having sex, but I'm not even aroused at the moment... it's weird. And it's really damn unlikely I'm pregnant due to a genetic disorder and the BC I'm on... erm... but wonders happen I guess, but I really really doubt it. Any idea, I mean really? Any one?

This is just weird.

Hi, found this site and I have a similar problem. I've been seeing a guy for awhile and a few days ago we had unprotected sex. I didn't notice anything till this morning, when I saw a thick white discharge, not cottage cheese but more like thick snot, white and sticky and only small amount. It also smelled like a guys semen. Don't think I'm pregnant as this happened only a few days ago, plus I'm on the Implanon which doesn't need replacement till this April.

I don't know if this will help your situation, but my chiropractor suggested this to me and it worked. Go to a health food store and get a bottle of liquid acidophilus. Make sure it is the liquid version (it is the strongest) and it HAS to be refrigerated. it is a probiotic and replaces all of the good bacteria back into your body. my discharge stoped with in hours of taking this. it is not that expensive. worth a try %-) hope it helps

I have this problem too. Taking medication (dyflucan or monistat) for yeast infections has temporarily helped in the past, but it always comes back. It's possible it's bacterial vaginosis, but I'm not positive how to go about curing it and I haven't checked in with a gynecologist since I tried treating for yeast. I hope this provides some insight?

Bacterial vaginosis has very similar symptoms. I've been tested for STDs, done numerous yeast infection medications & still had that white, thick discharge. My gyno said BV & prescribed an anitbiotic.

I think I'm having yeast infection. Can I get a medicine for it in Walgreens...which one is the best?

Monistat 3 day treatment works best for me. OR you can do 2 one day treatments.
