Vaginal Discharge
Vaginal discharge is normal and varies during your menstrual cycle. Before ovulation (the release of the egg), there is a lot of mucous produced, up to 30 times more than after ovulation. It is also more watery and elastic during that phase of your cycle. You may want to wear panty liners during that time.
The things to be worried about include if the discharge has a yellow or green color, is clumpy like cottage cheese, or has a bad odor. If worried, see a doctor.

Different Types of Discharge
White: Thick, white discharge is common at the beginning and end of your cycle. Normal white discharge is not accompanied by itching. If itching is present, thick white discharge can indicate a yeast infection.
Clear and stretchy: This is "fertile" mucous and means you are ovulating.
Clear and watery: This occurs at different times of your cycle and can be particularly heavy after exercising.
Yellow or Green: May indicate an infection, especially if thick or clumpy like cottage cheese or has a foul odor.
Brown: May happen right after periods, and is just "cleaning out" your vagina. Old blood looks brown.
Spotting Blood/Brown Discharge: This may occur when you are ovulating/mid-cycle. Sometimes early in pregnancy you may have spotting or a brownish discharge at the time your period would normally come. If you have spotting at the time of your normal period rather than your usual amount of flow, and you have had sex without using birth control, you should check a pregnancy test.

I am currently 19. I have been getting the white mucous like discharge since i hit puberty, which was like... when I was 8. when I became sexually active around your age (which was dumb and I regret it very much now) it got a bit thicker and more frequent. lately I only get it around once a month. I have heard that it is a sign of ovulation, but either way, if its not painful and it doesn't have an icky odor, you are fine. It is completely normal.

No, It's fine! Your vagina is just cleaning itself out :) Dont freak out, Almost every girl has this! Only be concerned if its clumpy like cottage cheese and comes out in heaps! If its anything but white/clear with maybe a faint shade of yellow, you may want to get it checked out. I have discharge too, It's totally normal. I don't like mine at all, but eh, we're girls. This discharge goes on for the rest of your life. Don't worry, you're completely normal!

hi i was wondering if anyone had a big glob of white thick discharge at 28 weeks . what does this mean ...

Maybe its your tampons or pads you are using. If they are scented it may irritate. I have same problem from time to time. Sometimes condoms also irritate it. I haven't tried yeast infection treatment. I do. Use summers Eve soap to wash instead of regular wash so I don't irritate more.

I have the same thing as well. My obgyn told me to use represh an over the counter product to help with vaginal dryness or odor. It helps get your ph back to normal. I also read that if you use the bicarbonate of soda and place 3 cubes in you bath it can clear it up too

BV is nothing like thrush and is not treated the same! Thrush is a fungal infection and treated with creams and such like that you can get from a pharmacy BV is a viral infection treated by antibiotics from a doctor.

I deal with this too. I'm pretty sure it means your ovulating. It happens to me the whole time on not on my period. Some months it's so bad I have to wear a tampon all month cause I feel like I'm peeing all day!! Usually the week before i start its really thick and white. Just be careful having unprotected sex because the liquid (not the thick stuff, the clear liquid that feels like water) is suppose to help you become pregnant!
