I don't know what's been up with me lately. It seems that for the past month or so, every time I run I'm racing home to the bathroom. I hate it. It makes me not want to run anymore. Being miles away from home and most of the time miles away from the nearest bathroom is not a good time to start feeling sick.
When I ran in college, I used to be able to run and feel fine regardless of what I ate, as long as I waited 2-3 hours after eating. I mean literally, I could eat Taco Bell and still feel fine. But now, I seem to be eating healthier (cereal for breakfast, lunchmeat and/or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with fruit and maybe some chips or granola for lunch, and most of the time a relatively good dinner, I feel like c**p.
As I always have, I'm going to the bathroom before I run, but it just seems that things are bouncing around a ton in my stomach more than usual. I'm perfectly hydrated, drinking plenty of water every day.
I don't feel sick at all, until I start running. Usually it's 3-4 miles in. Since I usually run 8 miles, I'm stuck and can't take a shortcut home. I'm just at my wits end, dunno what to do. I've tried eating more fiber for breakfast (frosted mini wheats or honey bunches if oats) but it doesn't help....
Any advice?
The ONLY things I can think of are that I just moved to Montana from Pennsylvania, but I felt fine the first month and a half out here. And I've started eating off brand cereals for breakfast. You know, the ones that come in the big bags? That's about it though.
