I'm 19 and have been sexually active in the past. I had a normal period, but noticed after my period that the skin around my vagina started peeling. I do not have any kind of discharge, and it is not itchy or irritated in any way. I'm not on any kind of medication or birth control.

I'm worried that this might be a symptom of Toxic Shock Syndrome.
Can some one please help me??
I am too embarassed to go to my doctor as he is my boss.

Why did Toxic Shock Syndrome come to your mind. It occurs rarely and it really is an emergency, not something that would cause skin peeling.

Toxic Shock Syndrome symptoms start suddenly and include fever, drop in blood pressure, confusion, muscle aches, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, etc

Your problem could be a simple yeast infection or some kind of skin reaction or dermatitis.

you probably are having a reaction to menstural pads. some people find them very drying, so your skin is being sapped of moisture, which is why it's peeling. Just be sure to keep the area clean, don't peel the skin, and it'll go away without any problems

i think it was only a pad allergic reaction... im having the same thing, im in your same position, but i had the feeling of raw skin. it started on my lat first day of period and today ismy fourth and its already going away. ihad a burning sensation and i conclude that it was because of the constant cleaning with toilet paper. i'll see what is wrong anyways

It's NOT a pad reaction because I'm pregnant and have the same problem with the peeling and have had this problem for 3 months of the 5 months I've been pregnant.

Can't be possible, I have never had sex, and I had just finished my period. Like yesturday/this morning ish, & I am not pregnant. I do believe it is a reaction to the pads. Stick to tampons ladies.

I'm having the same thing. But I am thinking it's an irritation to my toilet paper. I'm literally freaking myself out & I'm nervous as c**p. I have NEVER experienced this before. But it doesn't seem to bother me until I look at and I am think WHAT THE HELL?!? I have been checked and I don't have an std's. But it's still kinda nerve wracking not know what's happenings. It recently appeared as I start my menstrual cycle. I need answers and I know that google imaging is probably the best way to scare some people sh*tless. I actually believe just recently I experience Toxic Shock Syndrome. I became very weak for 4 days and I had all the symptoms went the the doctor and the only told me that a stomach virus was going around. I mean I am no doctor what so ever and I am not diagnosing my self with any of this conditions.

more importantly, why is your doctor your boss? that's super unethical. you shouldnt feel embarrassed to go to your doctor about this because your doctor shouldn't be your boss.
