I went for transvaginal ultra sound on Tuesday & I felt unbearable pain during the process. So I had to stop it & I failed to do the test.

I had my third TV ultrasound today to check on a slow dissolving cyst. Well that cyst has gone but I have a new one and an enlarged ovary to boot. I had no pain beforehand but ever since I came out its been agony. I was in pain after the second one as well.

I now have to wait until Monday to phone my consultants secretary to let him know I have had the scan. This is a real pain. Anyone experiencing pain, get a hot water bottle or heat pack and take some co-codomol and relax as much as you can.

How are you feeling, now?! I had an outer abdominal ultrasound AND a transvaginal ultrasound today. I have had a cyst in the past that disappeared on the right side years ago. Oddly enough, a spot over my bladder area was EXTREMELY sensitive with the abdominal ultrasound. There were a few spots that were sensitive with the wand. The technician shared ZERO info. I should hear from my Doc by the end of next week, 10JAN14. What were the outcomes of these individuals that posted here previously?!

I had a transvaginal ultasound a year ago, everything went well. After my exam this year she said my uterus was inlarged so I had another ultrasound Monday, a couple times since the ultrasound I have gotten so irritable that I wanted to explode. PMS feeling? I have not had a period since 2007? Now I feel it, and I have PMS feelings like I want to scream? I had no pain during the ultrasound, but what is all this after effects? I am still waiting on a call from Dr.

Yesterday I  had an ultrasound and found it very uncomfortable at times. I was not prepared for that at all. I was having the procedure done because of heavy menstrual bleeding.

Later in the evening I was having some cramping and sharp shock like pains and it is continuing today. I found out I have numerous fibroids-1 that is very large. The NP told me the discomfort is probably from the fibroids being irritated during the procedure. Aleve has helped reduce the discomfort.

I just had a vaginal ultrasound yesterday and it was more painful than having a baby! I can say that today I feel worse than when I did after giving birth to my 9 and a half pound baby!!!!! I think my Dr. should have given me a powerful drug to get through it! They give epidurals to birthing mothers. When I had my son they didn't get to give me an epidural before he came so it was essecially natural. The ultrasound felt worst! I don't see my gynocologist for 2 more days, but he's going to get it!

Hey just curious. I had one done two weeks ago and right after had pain in pressure suddenly on the left side of my pelvic area where I never had any pain or pressure before, ever!!! The cyst was on my right ovary and since the transvaginal ultrasound, its like she tweaked a muscle or something on my left groin area but when I walk now I get cramping feeling in my lower left side (never before the ultrasound)
It feels like pulled muscle some days, burning sensation in my groin area on left or it moves up along left side seems like my desending colon area or something with cramp feeling.
Anyone else have anything like this happen and if so how long before it went away or did you have to have something done to fix it (like physical therapy, etc)
Could it be a muscle or nerve that got tweaked? I cant believe this is happening, went to see how right ovary was doing with cyst and now I have pain pressure issue since the second she finished the transvaginal ultrasound, like 30 seconds after it ended started feeling pressure.
I am so scared:(

Hey e.sprad
Just to let you know you probably got a muscle spasm in your vagina from the probe.
What happens is there is a spasm in the muslces in your pelvic area from them pushing around and the spasm pushes on your urethra and/bladder depending on how bad they are and you feel like you have to pee all the time.
Did you ever get it figured out?
Look up pelvic floor disfunction.
Basically you go for PT in the vagina They do trigger point release and it helps the spasms clear up.
I had this happen to me 4 years ago after gyno made speculum to tight.
took about 2 months of theropy 2x a week with this woman Marilyn Freedman out in Great Neck LI.
Let me know if your better.

I had it done in 2002 and it hurt really bad..just as bad as having a baby. I have 3 tiny fibroids and the biggest one is the size of the tip of my pinky finger..so you wouldn't think that would hurt so bad. I doubt if it was a pulled ligament..lol.

i had such a painful procedure that I refused one now, 5 yrs later. I had an MRI and I am told "it shows too much", and that I need the vaginal ultrasound.(What?!) No one says why it hurts so much, like it"s MY fault. I've been to a gyn oncologist who just says have a radical hysterectomy. with no diagnosis of anything specific. It"s been months going round and round. I give up. I believe ti's all c**p.

Yes, it was painful in one spot. I do have a cyst. More test are scheduled. I was also sore the next day.
