will drinking too much grapefruit juice cause sweating
Interesting quiestion. I have had a similar experience that suggests it's not impossible, at least - though what 'too much' is is open to question.
Any time you overload your body, it will use an excretion mechanism, (sweat, urine, bowel, even breath) to reduce the overload, and sweat is a 'fast response' excretion mechanism. I suspect that it would not be the grapefruit juice specifically, but two possibilities come to mind: a sugar overload, and stress: drinking so much your stomach is at its limit, just as you can sweat when you've had too much to eat.
Grapefruit juice is also acidic (ditto all the 'citric' fruits - orange etc., I guess), so that's another factor.
You can reduce the intensity of all the above by diluting the juice with fresh water, for example. We are supposed to drink up to 2L of water a day for optimal health, in sips not 1L gulps. 2L of grapefruit juice however, or any single intake, and I'd begin to wonder if that was healthy. Dilute it with water and you have a tasty, refreshing drink.
