I just brought my 10 wk old son home 4 wks ago from the NICU, he was weened from Methodone. CPS did get involved a bit, enough to scare the c**p out of me! I live in San Diego, it's standard for the hospital to notify CPS. They came to our home 2x and had us on eggshells for weeks. I was sure that they were going to take him because of our histories with drugs and also CPS. I went to the hospital every day for 6 to 8 hrs with a 2 hr drive time for 6 wks. I thought it necessary but strangely enough they had never had anyone do that before.....big hospital too. Anyway, that was one of the main things that they looked at. Also, the CPS wrkr told me ( eventually) that there has to be abuse or neglect NOW for them to take thebe also. Also, Methodone is legal. Chances are, CPS will come n see you, the baby and your home and then go away. Even if it gets more involved than that , as mine did, just keep on and focus on baby and he will come home. Weening will be faster too if you are there to support him alot. There were 2others in the NICU at the same time n they were hardly ever there, their babiesiBook much longer to ween. Good luck!

home once he or she detoxed please anyone ansqer back asap please im so worried and stressed over this.
