Hi, I am 21 years old and have a fear of water. I am very afraid of getting into the sea or lake, and I often have nightmares. Will sharing my phobia make me feel better?

Hi, sharing my phobia made me feel a lot better. Since I was a child, I had an obsessive fear of spiders. Everyone in my family knew that, but I never wanted to talk about it. I was embarrassed, because my brothers teased me all the time. Once they put a spider on my pillow and woke me up. I was screaming so much, that I woke up everybody in the house. When I grew up I still had the same phobia, but I decided to do something about it. I went to a group therapy where people were sharing their phobias with each other. I was amazed when I heard some stories, I never knew that there is a fear of eating in public and fear of the sunlight.
