Suspicious fibrolinear and reticular densities are seen in both lower lobes.

Heart is not enlarged

Pulmonary vascularity is within normal

Visualized osseous structures are unremarkable

Remarks:Suggest additional apicogram

Hello, guest.

The X-ray report of your son describes several findings:

  1. Suspicious Fibrolinear and Reticular Densities in Both Lower Lobes: This refers to certain patterns seen on the X-ray in the lower parts of both lungs. "Fibrolinear" suggests lines that could be indicative of fibrous tissue, and "reticular" refers to a net-like pattern. These descriptions are often used in radiology to characterize the appearance of lung tissue on an X-ray. These patterns can be associated with a variety of lung conditions, including infection, chronic inflammatory processes, or other lung diseases. The term "suspicious" indicates that these findings are not normal but require further evaluation to determine their significance.

  2. Heart is Not Enlarged: This is a normal finding, indicating that the size of the heart appears within normal limits on the X-ray.

  3. Pulmonary Vascularity is Within Normal: This means the blood vessels in the lungs appear normal in size and number.

  4. Visualized Osseous Structures are Unremarkable: This indicates that the bones visible in the X-ray, such as ribs and parts of the spine, appear normal.

  5. Remarks: Suggest Additional Apicogram: An apicogram is a specialized type of chest X-ray that provides a clearer view of the upper portions of the lungs (the apices). This suggestion is likely made to get a better look at areas that might not be as clearly visible in a standard chest X-ray, especially if there's a concern about abnormalities in those areas.

The doctor may recommend further diagnostic tests, such as the suggested apicogram, to gain more clarity on the nature of the densities observed in his lungs and to determine the appropriate course of action.
