Yasmin Side Effects, Eye problems, Depression

Hi Everyone,

I have recently been suffering from so many side effects, and unbeknowing to me these all seem to be linked to Yasmin Contreceptive pill.

I was prescribed this 2years ago when the nurse explained my old pill diannette had been taken off the market and replaced with a "SAFER" version called Yasmin.

Since then, I suffered terrible mood swings, depression, Even suicidal thoughts, I thought maybe these were symptoms of post natal depression, but i was fine after I had my daughter, I was precribed these 7 mnths after the birth, I was given anti depressents and sent on my way, I subsequently ended up leaving a very good career as I simply couldn't handle work, suffering terrible aniexty.

I had 5 water infections in the first year, I had no idea why, The dr referred me to specialist to scan my all bladder and kidney, they discovered I only had one kidney but it was fine and sent on my way, I suffered repeat Yeast infections, I had these all the time, Which developed into itchy skin around the area particularly in the hairs and still get that now...

In between all this I suffered terrible itchy dry legs, Which I put down to a reaction with shaving, I would scratch so bad in the night.. 

Then the last straw was about 2 months ago at Xmas, I was suffering so badly with stress my relationship broke down that he moved out and the stress was unbearable I wasn't taking care of myself and eating and drinking was at the back of my mind, My eyes began to look sunken, And dark circles appeared and I had unbearable Dry eyes, which can be a sympton of dehydration, and this pill has a duretic in it that would definalty cause that if i wasnt drinking enough, Especially with one kidney, The dr precribed me eye drops and said its probably the central heating at home drying them out, i truly believe at this point I was severly dehydrated.

I really started to worry at this point so i came and looked at the side effects of the pill, I really dont know why I never linked them, I think its because ive always took it and never thought it could cause any of the above.

And was shocked as to what I found with all the other women and their suffering on this pill, I came off the pill immediatly, Started to drink ton's of water everyday spread over the day to ensure I didn't over do it, I take Cod liver oil, and Vit supplement, and the only hot drink i have is green tea, ive started to exercise again, As before i would be in the gym 5 days a week, and i completly stopped! as i would be short of breath and tired all the time.

I feel so much better, My moods have disappeared, The thrush has gone... My eyes are alot alot better, I just feel generally well again, I hate the fact my Dr did not link any of these symptoms to Yasmin, Not even When he knew i had one kidney, I'm sure this pill is unsuitable for people with kidney issues.

My eyes are the main sympton I still have Then can become irritated on the odd day ususally when Ive been reading etc, but i can see improvments, and i have had my first period since being off the pill and it was on time. unsure if the next one will come after what ive read

Please stay away from this pill its not worth it.

I originally got precriped this pill due to excess facial hair, It wasn't a major issue but it bothered me so the Dr advised to take this. Never again
