Hey, my husband and I want so much a baby but it seems like I can't go off Zyprexa as I am suffering from Stress and panick attacks :-( Is there any lady that took Zyprexa during pregnancy? Please help me.
You are not allowed to take even the Aspirin during pregnancy if there is no cause that would justify doing harm to your baby, and let alone taking Zyprexa during pregnancy. Zyprexa can only be taken during pregnancy when benefit outweighs the risk for the baby. You should talk with your doctor about Zyprexa, that is a medication that can have serious side effects on you even when you are not pregnant, and Zyprexa is normally not the choice for treating stress or panic. How long have you been taking it? You definitely will have to stop taking it if you want to be pregnant.
I am on Zyprexa for the past year. I know that Zyprexa is not the choice for stress or panic but because my stress is coming throught my way of thinking apparently Zyprexa helps you with stop thinking so much. I just can't stop thinking of things that happening and upset me.If for exampe something will happen to me in the morning and get upset i will not stop thinking of it for the rest of the day.
As I said, the person that gave you prescription is probably the best one to decide how damaging would the medication be for the baby. When your symptoms make you this big problem in everyday life, maybe the only way for you to be safely pregnant would be to change to the medication that will help you fight the thoughts and other issues, but that would be less harmful on the baby than Zyprexa would. If there is no alternative, maybe your doctor can give you a smaller dosage on Zyprexa that still would help you but which wouldn’t harm the baby.
