im 15 almost 16 in about a month and i still haven't reached puberty. im 5"4 105 pounds, i have some pubic hair and like 3 1 inch strands of armpit hair, close to nothing, and no facial hair. i also look like im 12/13 and everyone always assumes that im that age and its really frustrating because everyone just sees you as a little kid even though you're not but just because you look younger, i got a job and i start working next month and when i was at the interview one of the employees were so surprised because "you look like you're 11" i know it doesnt sound that bad but it is ive never had a girl friend and im a sophomore in highschool all my friends get to do stuff and i cant because of my physical incapabilities, and i cant go to the doctor because my parents dont have health insurance yet and i dont want to ask them because its too embarassing, i have an older sister and she never had this problem which makes me believe its not something genetic and i dont know whats wrong with me, i dont know how much longer i can take this anymore
You have started puberty the pubic hair and the few armpit hairs confirm that you have started puberty.
Other early signs are testicle and penis growth with being almost 16 your a bit late starting puberty and hopefully a growth spurt will happen in the near future.
So for someone that is in the early stages of puberty your developing just fine.
Everyone grows and develops at different rates and times it's frustrating when your smaller and a bit late developing compared to your friends but the changes your concerned about will happen.
Your first girlfriend will also happen and she will like you because of who you are and being smaller or looking younger won't matter.
As far as going to the doctor really not needed unless there is an issue you haven't mentioned your just a bit late starting puberty and that is very common and 5'4 is a good height for someone early into puberty.
You just need more time to grow and develop it's hard to not compare yourself to other guys your age but the changes your concerned about will gradually happen as you continue to go through puberty.
So you have started puberty and your not the only one in your school that is late starting puberty and looks younger things will change just give it time.
Congrats on getting your job that's awesome and you can show them your a good worker and will do a good job and being smaller and looking younger won't hold you back in anyway..
