Nice. Ty for saying that. I understand she hates seeing babies go through withdrawal but her comment was so unnecessary. It’s almost as if she is advocating for heroin. You cannot detox while pregnant. Period. I found out I was 2.5 months pregnant in rehab after a 2 month long relapse. (I didn’t think I could have children so my fiancé and I weren’t very careful). Anyways I found out at rehab I was pregnant and was promptly brought in and asked if I knew what methadone was. I said yes and that I didn’t want to be on it and just wanted detoxed. First time I ever put myself in rehab. I just had a year clear before my relapse and wanted off drugs especially since I was pregnant. After about an hour of crying and saying no the doctor looked me dead in the eyes and said “you can’t detox while pregnant off opioids/opiates, you will kill your baby and he also stated that the rehab couldn’t detox me anyways bc if the baby died due to the detox that it would be held liable”. So they ended up sending me home the next day and I started at a methadone clinic that the rehab set up for me. I never made any calls nothing. The rehab set everything up for me to be on methadone.
I was wondering and worried if I took morphine a few times and it was in my urine will the baby be taken away when it's born but don't have it in the system at that time? Please help anyone. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant.
