BLEEDING HAEMORRHOIDS? I’m a fit healthy 37 year old normal man. I have suffered from haemorrhoids for about 15 years. They bulge out but there is no discomfort. My only concern was sporadic bleeding, which often occurred when going to the toilet. Doctors then accused the obvious thing, which was straining with weights in the gym to often but I refused to accept this but accept that being healthy does help. About 10 years ago I had enough of the bleeding and had surgical procedures such as rubber band ligation, which did not work and then the very painful haemorrhoidectomy, which worked for a few years. However, the bleeding haemorrhoids have since returned with vengeance. I continue to workout with weights at the gym and doctors continue to use this as the obvious excuse. However I continue to refuse to accept that exercise is unhealthy and believe you just need to know how to manage the condition. Doctor then referred me back to the obvious haemorrhoid cream, which does nothing and then the very painful haemorrhoidectomy but I don’t want to go through that cost and pain again. All I want is for the bleeding to stop! So I began researching the internet and people posts and come across the Glyceryl Trinitrate 0.2% w/w ointment known as RECTOGESIC. I had a look at the website for RECTOGESIC and it said that bleeding fissures are often misdiagnosed for a more sever haemorrhoid issue. I then tried the RECTOGESIC and what do you know, the bleeding stopped within 2 days and the condition was fixed just as quick. This stuff actually works when nothing else did. I am actually pissed off now because doctors knew about RECTOGESIC but did not recommend it and instead made me go through the painful surgery and even referred me to surgery again the second time around. All I needed was a $33 tube from the Chemist Warehouse. Life is full of trail and errors but I feel a responsibility now to post my results to get it out there and hopefully even dumb doctors can learn from this. I also thank people for their posts as I would never have found this. No one is making me write this and I am just a normal bloke from Sydney Australia. For more info on RECTOGESIC see this link http://www.chemistaustralia.com.au/products/rectogesic-ointment-tube-of-30g.html
Ahhhg, the hems got me while O/S. Started with something that gave me diarrhea. I think it was the irritation of wiping a lot that may have been bad. I'm really not sure. I changed to softer toilet paper and then also added some aloe which helped cool that area. Also tried some other things like sitting on the toilet the right way and eating certain foods etc. Got all this info from a book. Not sure if I'm allowed to mention it here, Don't Panic They're Just Hemorrhoids. Found it on some blog somewhere. Eventually they went away. Been a year and they haven't come back, but I'm still wary! Anyway, I hope this helps others. Cheers
hey Kevin try hems clear google it and you will find it.
Thanks a lot but the percentage of ointment should be 0.2% is that right?
He said a chemist is what they call a drugstore in Australia..
Thanks for your information. I have been using Protecydel for some months but no use. I checked from the website that .2% Glyceryl Trinitate (Rectogesic Ointment) is used for anal fissure and not to cure hemorrhoid. Were you diagnosed as Hemorrhoid or anal fissure?
Does this treatment work for external hemorrhoids?
I have been using the Rectogesic Ointment for over a week and nothing is shrinking on the hemorrhoids. They are external ones. Trouble is my anus gets so itchy I have to stratch and that doesn't help and now there is a bit of blood. The skin in the surrounding area also gets very itchy and is a bit red. Is there anything else?
Hi, I had hemorrhoids and what helped me was the Lido-Nifedipine Gel. The hemorrhoids were falling out during defecation all the time and I had to put them back. Now after using the gel they are gone. Amazing.

You are not well versed in the art of reading, are you? It was explained that the Australian version of a Drug Store is a Chemist. Tsk tsk to you!
They can make a 0.2% Nitroglycerin ointment at compounding pharmacies in the US, it releases NO into the area just like the Glyceryl Trinitrate, just need a docs prescription
You know you can buy the Rectogesic on Amazon now. I just ordered some after reading here. Hopefully it will work for my husband who has a fissure and hemorrhoids that are internal but become external at times.
Hi Kevin!
How long before your hemorrhoids subsided? I have three grade 2-3 hems which have been banded twice to no avail. The bleeding + anal leakage has stopped since the banding but the hems are still there. My surgeon recommended that I try Rectogesic as he said my sphincter muscle is very tight which could be putting pressure on the hems, preventing them from healing. I've been using the cream for 10 days and while my symptoms (itching, throbbing) have subsided, they're still present and the one time I forgot to apply the ointment my symptoms returned fully within a few hours.
At this stage I'm considering HALO but I want to get an idea of how long I should persevere with the ointment before giving up?
