I had the Mirena inserted under general anesthesia 2 days ago and have been experiencing mild to severe pain in my lower abdomen to the right... I was diagnosed with Endometriosis in 2014 and used Visanne (which took away my periods totally) to manage it. I have never been pregnant and understood that that may cause me to experience some discomfort after the Mirena placement. But what I experienced was agonizing pain right after the operation which the nursing staff had to address immediately. Then, after about 30 minutes the pain subsided a little bit and I felt much better. My Ob/Gyn came to see me and told me that I should not be having pain and that if it continues I should contact her ASAP. I tried multiple times without any answer. I've been severely bloated (I look like I'm about to give birth!) and my right ovary/lower abdomen has been in blunt but sharp pain ever since placement - the extent of the pain varies, however. I've also been abnormally grumpy, annoyed and at times even bitchy - which is out of character. Last night, I snapped at my husband over nothing, got in my car and bought more junk food that I can consume in a month. So... The pain, the bloating (without any changes in bowel functioning), the mood swings and the crazy cravings... What the hell is going on and what should I do from this point forward? Please help...
