I posted 5 months back here when I had a series of this about twice in a week.
At the time, I blamed "lying in bed with laptop" posture for long time, reduced water consumption and increased cocacola/pepsi consumption.
This time I am definitely low on water (winter laziness) but instead of softdrink, I am just having more gas than usual since 2 days (I do usually have it, genetic).
I am sure now, this is a combination of
* Dehydration
* Bowel Troubles (Constipation, Gas etc)
* Possibly being inactive (never happens to me during college semesters, always during vacations when I am not spending them outdoors)

This one doesn't go away in 2 minutes (I have read almost all comments here so I know). You become a hunchback for several hours, if you straighten your back, you feel the stab knock your senses out.
You have some other problem.

"The most common and severe symptom is sudden pain on the lower left side of the abdomen."
This pain is entirely different. Please don't add random diseases on this thread.

oh oh dear , this is what i call a disability which cribles my sex life and my entire life, i have been through this pain after every masturbation i can remember, since i reach puberty and start masturbation until now, its symptoms is as you describe sudden pain which start from umblical area to the penis which feels like razor blade cut through from umbilical to the urethra of the penis all of the sudden ,lt comes suddenly without warning, especially getting up suddenly , or wearing tight clothing's at that area and you suddenly try to get up and bang without any warning ,and end up bend your self ,,,
regarding my experience i will try to give some info to the sufferers like me maybe i will help them, first as i mention earlier i get this pain after every masturbation so the first thing cause this to me is one masturbation, and i have succesfully wake up the beast, and i get this guaranteed ,its eye by eye , one masturbation= an entire day of hell , if i stop masturbation i will not get the pain for months , (I remember one time after being hospitalised for this i stop masturbating for one year and i never get any at that entire year) , so if i stop masturbation i don't get it this frequency maybe several times at that year , and i never get it again. So my conclution is that if there is a link between sex or masturbation and this disease thanks , and sorry for my bad english

I have the same things all you males have, save for the penis part. I've had this constant on/off burn for early seven years (since I was in second grade. 14 female ) But every so often when I urinate, my urethra hurts awfully, as does my belly button. I took Azo because burn + whatever the Hell this is is unbearable and I cried in school. Had to be taken home early btw. The burn went away but the pain didnt. Some one help! :(

OK, so I have this right now.
History:
I was left with an inny/outy belly button from the way it was cut.
I had an infected belly button when very young, toddler age.
3 yrs ago I had silver nitrate applied to an area on the inny part, eventually a hair came out and has not returned. I kept getting discharge from my navel and mild pain, hence the doctor visit.
6 days ago I had a ganglion cyst removed from my wrist (for the second time), so was under a general anesthetic.
I have not been to the gym for 3 weeks now, put on a few pounds (5-7) due to this.
I drink in moderation, am a smoker.
I have always drank a lot of coffee/tea, but not soft drinks (Sodas) although I will drink around 4 pints of water a day.
I have occasionally suffered from what I call "bum stab" and "front bum stab", that short sharp shooting pain that goes away after a minute in either the rectum or frontal groin area.
Today I also have slightly ache hips, oh and the 5/10 pain in the navel down to my groin. Having a pee is 3/10 painful.
Now I believe this is a nerve related issue, inflamed in some way, and they all connect up in some way.
I'm gonna ride out today, but will go see the doctor if it continues.Feel free to contact me with any follow-up questions. Male, 38yrs, generally in good health.

Here's my story (FWIW I'm a 38 year old male who exercises often pretty vigorously):
-Since I was a teenager (at least that's as far back as I can remember) - I've had a sensitive belly button where if I am poked directly in it, I feel a ton of pain/discomfort - it's the shooting string pain as described numerous times here that feels like it's radiating from my belly button down through my private parts (seems to be more in my testicles than penis in my case). But I live with it fine as the pain goes away so quickly.
-Every once in awhile (I'd say on average once every couple years) I get what I'd call a "flare up" where I feel the "string" pain when straightening out my body, take a deep breath or yawn, laugh hard, or even just randomly - where it's a quick sharp pain but it's a 10/10. It's difficult to specifically re-create the pain (not that I want to). I usually can't stand up straight, and am always so nervous about recreating the pain I feel like I need to "clench" my body in a way that makes me nervous and even sweaty sometimes.
-Most of the time, it just goes away after a few days
-HOWEVER, I had a vasectomy recently, and as I healed from that, the string pain returned, and has NOT gone away (it's been about 3 weeks now). Also my belly button seems extremely sensitive, much more than normal, to the point where I sometimes need to pull my seatbelt off my belly with one hand while driving because it's so uncomfortable to have any contact near it.
-I've spent time in urgent care and the ER, I had CT Scans of my abdomen and an MRI of the spine (because the issue seems nerve related). However both the CT and MRI show that NOTHING IS WRONG with me.
-since I've had the "string" issue before, I don't think it's directly related to the vasectomy (but maybe indirectly related as I'll theorize below). I returned to my urologist, and he basically said the vasectomy has nothing to do with the pain
-My PCP prescribed gabapentin, which I've been taking for a couple weeks and upping the dosage, but it hasn't changed anything at all.
-I went to a neurologist, who was not helpful either and had never seen this issue before. She prescribed me lidocaine (numbing cream) to put in my belly button, but it's been useless, and it's so uncomfortable to apply to my belly button that I stopped using it.
-Supposedly, from the exams/scans done, I do not have an umbilical hernia or any issue with my urachus, kidney stones, etc.
-So what the heck is wrong, and why did my vasectomy seem to bring about this issue again?
-My best guess at this point is, I probably DO have an umbilical hernia that's maybe so small it can't be seen in my scans (one reply here on page 7 seemed to have this happen), and that with the pulling of the vas deferens during my vasectomy, it somehow irritated the hernia area or nerves in that area...could that be possible? All my doctors insist it's not a hernia though...
