My girlfriend had a abortion six months ago. About six weeks ago she had a mild pain in upper abdominal area (was not hospitalized), within days pain increased as well as having abnormal vaginal bleeding along with occasional vomiting. When she went to the ER they gave her a CT scan and said it could be pancreatitis. After scan they said it was not pancreatitis but a urinary tract infection and to take the antibiotics and pain killers and she should be ok. She still has upper abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding, and vomits anything she trys to eat I don’t know how much more she can take she is only 22 and I know she is scared. Additional symptoms which may or may not be related are swelling and red vaginal area, pain on surface of skin in that area. She has had 2 CT scans (abdominal and pelvic) as well as 2 ultrasounds (pelvic and gallbladder) which show nothing, the doctors think she’s exaggerating her symptoms. She’s now out on medical leave. We both noticed that her pain and symptoms were highly exacerbated after intercourse. However, all blood tests come back negative for STDs

Any help would be appreciated.
Hi,
I don't know if this could be it, but I have had some similar symptoms after sex because the condom was irritating. I don't think she was exaggerating her pain and I understand because I have had problems before and no one knew what to do. Someone doctors don't know anything, we know more about our own bodies, our instincts tell us a lot. If doctors would just listen maybe someone people wouldn't go home untreated.
hope that helps.

Sheneedshelp,
Tell your girlfriend to go to her family doctor or her Gynecologist and tell her to tell them what is going on and demand to have a laporoscopy done. I went through the same thing and when my doctor finally got tired of seeing me he sent me to a surgeon and the surgeon did a laporoscopy and I was diagnosed with endometriosis. I can relate I am about your girlfriends age and to be having this many problems is scary.

sounds like endometreosis and she should get a new doctor one that believes her and doesnt make her feel like she is going crazy she is having real symptoms I had endometreosis and fybromyalgia and they both are hard to get a doctor to support you in your time of need they both have crazy symptoms and make you even doubt your self at times.but they are real diseases and their is treatment for them. tell her about this site cause this is a definate place she can atleast find empathy for what she's going through and also find out answers from a real doctor if she pays for an answer or maybe through a member of the site . I'm really putting together alot of information about my symptoms and feeling alot better as far as my nerves and worry. P.S. your a really good friend!
